But donors to the event's beneficiary, the Rainforest Foundation, ought to check out the charity's latest financial filing with the state attorney general before they open their wallets again.

Feel good get rich crap from the trend started in the eighties. Don't you remember "We Are The World" nonsense? Those PBS fundraisers, Some disease/celebrity telathons, Live aide, it's all designed to enrich the hosts and their management organizations and elevate the status of those hosting the event while they are actually stealing all the proceeds through layers of enteties. We can be a real joke of a culture.

These phony charity fund raisers along with the numerous award show-of-week epidemic are just vehicles to promote and advertise the parasitical entertainment industry. The tax-exempt status of all these charities should be taken away if 99% of the funds are not given away. Even better should be to eliminate the tax-exemption code and suddenly we will see how from goodness of their hearts celebrities and their leftist comrades will delve into their own pockets. Sting is another pretentious jerk like Bono and has also produced some of the most banal music ever.
