President Bush yesterday reminded Congress of his veto power publicly for the first time this year as Republicans predicted the Democrat-led Senate is headed for a "wild, wild West" of spending.

"I've got a tool and that's called a veto," Mr. Bush said at the White House. "I don't think that's going to be necessary, because I believe in this difficult time for America there's a common spirit on Capitol Hill that we can promote and use for the benefit of the people."

we could cut 250,000 bureaucrat jobs without anyone noticing this government is so bloated. How much would that save?

The 13 King county council members have 100 full time personal assistants in Seattle...I almost fell out of my chair when I heard that...Our city parks are all gated because there's no money for maintaining them...Go Dubya, sacrifice the Department of Education first!

"Go Dubya, sacrifice the Department of Education first!"

Never happen. Bush wants centralized monitoring and manipulation of Americans.

You're right! I forgot that part of his campaign platform,*sheepish grin...I just don't see that Fed interference will improve things...I browsed through that guide you included and it is interesting...If they really standardize record keeping, I have a feeling that jobs will be able to be eliminated...Hope Bush will have the guts to do it...In the meantime, I'm betting ORACLE will have a lot of new orders for its RDBMS. This almost seems like the Airline traveler profiling system that's been proposed.
