I think this just means they want to bury the case for good, and do it quietly, but not leave themselves open to more charges that they did it secretively without proper public notice. I don't think it's a coincidence that this little press release follows shortly after they tidied up another loose end, with the retirement of the agent who took the fall for concealing evidence from the defense.

Well, the several thousand pages of documents they told us about the month before McVeigh's execution to divert our attention from the tens of thousnads of pages of documents that were concealed, are available to the public. The concealed records, the ones that demonstrate that the FBI had one or more agents in the McVeigh cell and could easily have prevented the bombing at OKC except for some idiotic internal turf war or Special Agent in Charge (Dallas?) ego issue, will, of course, never be seen. For reasons of national security, of course!

Let's sell it all on E-Bay and use the money to buy a new Senate.

outlining what they think should happen to the approximately 1,000 pieces of evidence, stored in a federal courthouse in Denver since McVeigh's 1997 trial.

The journalist seems more interested in McVeigh's T-shirt than the several video surveillance tapes taken into custody, including State Trooper Hanger's autocam video.I hope the folks filing a suit against Iraq realizes how important those tapes would be to substantiate the billion dollar claim.

What should be done with the evidence, including an assortment of McVeigh's belongings?

All of it should be donated to the Grassy Knoll Society!
