Militant Says U.S. Prime Revenge Target
New York Daily News ^ | 4/22/02 | Corky Siemaszko

Posted on 04/22/2002 2:46:31 AM PDT by kattracks

Palestinian militants seeking revenge for the arrest of alleged suicide bombing mastermind Marwan Barghouti are vowing to strike Israel's chief ally: the United States.

"Now, American targets are the same as Israeli targets," a senior leader of Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades told Time magazine. He did not go into specifics.

Sen. Bob Graham (D-Fla.) said the White House should take the threat seriously. "I fear certain American targets are vulnerable," he told CNN.

Al Aqsa's rage was further fanned yesterday when the Israelis nabbed Barghouti's right-hand man, Nasser Abu Hmeid, 31, after a brief gun battle in the Qalandiya refugee camp outside the West Bank city of Ramallah.

Barghouti, 41, was captured in Ramallah last week and was being grilled by security forces about his alleged activities.

As the head of Al Aqsa, Barghouti has been blamed for launching a wave of deadly suicide bomb attacks against Jewish civilians.

Israeli Defense Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer has called Barghouti the head of the "most murderous of the terrorist organizations."

The Israeli Army says it has documents linking Al Aqsa directly to Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat.

It seems it will only be a matter of time before some Pallie blows themselves up in a crowded public place in the states.

Only God can help any organization linked to that crime.

kat, these people really are idiots, aren't they?

In the first place, they have already attacked us. We still stand.

In the second place, have these moral imbeciles forgotten what we did to "the Thousand Year Reich?"

I think there is a very good reason why we haven't had any homocide bombings yet in the US, and it's not just Muslim Terror groups not ordering any yet. I suspect that the Muslim/Pali community in the US knows DAMN well it's in their best interest for bombers NOT to hit the US. Not only would that sort of thing destroy any and all major Palestinian support in the US, it would dredge up the specter of internment camps. I wouldn't be surprised if a few wackos here and there in the US have been quietly turned in...

Regardless, we'll see..I think it's still just a matter of time before something bad happens, because these terrorists are morons who possess little in the way of advanced tactical planning.

Yep, they're sweating alright. Two of the top Al Aqsa bombing planners are now in the "persuasive" hands of Israeli interrogators. Makes planning future bombings a little tough when they're on the run, fearing that the "mastermind" and his deputy are possibly spilling the beans on Al Aqsa agents.

Idiots, yes. Not to mention they don't have their own enclave (refugee camp)to hide in. They have to live among us and unlike the 9/11 terrorist murderers, we are watching now.

I believe it will happen but we will fight back on their "innocents". I afraid it would get ugly. Perhaps the terrorist among us should take a one way flight home now and take their sympathizers with them.

This took some really in-depth analysis to come up with this very deep and prophetic conclusion.

I know there is much to criticize about our culture, there's a pretty good argument that at least parts of it are decadent- but I still think we have and Iron fist hiding inside the velvet glove.

The 9 years I drove that wrecker around the South, I ran into every kind of person, from the highest to the lowest, and you know what?
Most Americans are pretty good people.

Not perfect, not Saints, but a pretty decent "average."

Our "mongrel culture" beat the Nazi's "supermen" rather handily, and what we did to the seagoing Samuri, well, you really don't want to think about that too hard, since we nuked 'em twice....

The pro-Palestinian rally on C-SPAN featured speakers from a collection of anti-war socialists from both America and abroad. Most had their own agenda (feminists, American Indian, anti-death penalty) and showed up to support the terrorists simply because there was a microphone and TV cameras.

However, there was one speaker who clearly represented a threat to the US. He shouted that allah is greater than the US, our congress, and our President. He demanded a return to the 1947 borders, effectively erasing Israel from the map. This militant was infering that the US was a prime revenge target as this article suggests. I was shocked that he wasn't arrested on the spot...

I guess they have not read what happened to the Taliban.

What we did to the Taliban was a gross under reaction which managed to kill a few hundred or so,
it was by no means enough to teach non-Taliban Rags anything.
If we had reacted in a manner which was so over the top as to be preceived by the Rags as completely
insane we could have taught their ancestors (if any) to leave the Americans alone.

We should have become their new boogieman, used to control their children, (if any.)

You give them (the islamists) far too much credit. They are not thinking about anything except how to convert the whole world, either by the book or by the sword (9-11).

We are at war. It has many aspects of a religious war, which are society is having a lot of problems coming to grips with. We must remember that the islamists are at war with all the infidels. They fight the Jews, the Hindus, the Christians and anyone else they come in contact with. There is no islamic country that has friendly relations with its (infidel) neighbors.

Too True...I know we suck at intelligence gathering based on progress at Gitmo, but I wish we could find some of the Talibunny sympathizers in that first alliance force that went into Tora Bora and let so many Al Qaeda slip away... Those people should be in Gitmo too. Although the Afghan version of prison is more Afghastly...I think this whole WAR needs to be totally united on both sides...if that means the Euroweenies and Qatar and Bahrain (much less Saudiland) can't see it in their hearts to see Iraqis and Palistinian terrorists lit up with Napalm...They are not our Allies and should not be dealt with as anything but Hostiles. Economic Ties can be renewed later...After the dusty debris of Iraq's pulverised military has stopped blocking the sun, for instance.

How about Turkey?? Admittedly, it doesn't get on too well with Greece, but seems on good terms with the rest of its infidel neighbors.

Now, if you mean any country that has an "Islamist government", then you are right on target.

With talks of the US supporting a Palestine state I would have to agree 100%. However, the threat of these types of attacks are very real. If you all recall right after 9/11, and closer to Halloween, there was all of that talk about malls being on high alert. Perhaps even back then there were credible threats that these types of suicide/homicide attacks were going to take place in America.

To ASA Vet: I think that your wish re what to do to these Islamics who want to kill Americans will be coming soon to Iran, Iraq and Syria.

Saddam knows that. That is why he was/is financing as many terrorist murderers in Israel as he can.

We have a real problem here in the states with the al Fuqra/Black Muslim organizations have been preaching hatred and violence for decades. They have been financed by those who finance Islamic Terrorism across the globe. Danny Pearl was kidnapped and murdered to prevent him from linking the reality of these clymers to al Qeada and other Islamic pro violence organization.

The marches this past weekend should provide pictures and identies of a lot of potential front line PA trouble makers in the US.

I had lunch and a few hours of bridge playing with an old friend from the Farm this past weekend. He indicated that the intel coming from Afghanistan and our detainees there and in Gitmo is incredible. For the most part, adults who love America are back in charge at the Farm and its franchises.

Keep the faith, bro! Your vision/hope of the future is coming.

Did you hear about the Opecker Prince who recently visited GW and complained that in the new Star Trek movies there were no Arabs in the new Star Trek movies coming out.

The Opecker Prince demanded to know if this was another example of the racial profiling of America against innocent Arabs.

President Bush, replied, "No, you see those new Star Trek Movies are in the future. No Profiling was necessary!"

Shermy; seamole; Ernest_at_the_Beach; Clovis_Skeptic please post your links to Jihad in America and the threads about al Fuqra in America.

There are more than 10:1 American rednecks to Paliban terrorists. If they start blowing up our women and kids at the mall, they ain't seen nothin' yet. Jenin was a dress rehersal. While sadly unfortunate, every mosque and suspected "student" would face the brutal xenophobia rednecks are known for, and no place on earth would be a terrorist's haven. Paliban and their arab wizards of Oz will not survive this ungodly war of annihilation. China and North Korea are supporting our mortal enemies. Theo-fascist Islamists have "the bomb" and are in the process of arming weapon systems to deliver the package to Israel and American soil. American elected leaders will be forced to lead, follow, or get out of the way.

BLOAT and practice.

Heard on Quinn this morning, there was a plot uncovered that the North Koreans would denotnate a nuke or dirty bomb in NYC, with the intent of screwing our economy, with cover of al queda to protect them. Bush Admin found out and made plans (which were leaked to Chinese spies) that they would get samples of the material, trace it to the source (Russia or China) find out who did it (Iraq, Iran, N Korean) then launch a full scale, ICBM nuke response. Word got back to N.Korea and the event did not happen. This could all be grade A bullshit, but it might not.

I saw a c-span program about black muslims in America. Never have I seen or heard so much blatant hatred. Hard core, in-your-face, ugly hatred for all things white, for all things American, was spewed from every mouth. I wondered where our security agents were that day. They could have collected many new names, from that one program. I don't see how we can allow groups like this to remain in America, and still keep our Country. Here it is months later, and that program still bothers me.

I can't figure out how, we as a people, manage to keep such crooks in office. I know a lot of Americans and they almost always stand for what is good for America yet....... even the polls (not that I trust them) but they even show that the people are with Israel, and the war that we are fighting and that we as Americans do not want muslims in our midst. Why do the liberals manage to turn things their way so much?.............the stupid politicans......represent the liberals.........$$$$$ grrr..

I've long thought that politics has a sort of inherent corrupting process about it- most people get into it in part to help, and perhaps benefit themselves as well. All too soon they start seeing themselves as being above a lot of the rest of us, and cutting exemptions and loopholes for themselves and the groups they need for support.

Rush actually had an interesting comment about "do any of you ( us citizens ) realize how corrupting it is to live in a town ( Washington ) where, if you know the right groups & people, you never, ever have to pay for a meal?" There was lot more to it than that, but it started me ( who has a lot of trouble affording food! ) thinking about how out-of-touch anyone would become if they never paid for certain things- like food!
