Here is some info on the netcast controversy.

From WLAC site: Due to continuing uncertainty over rights issues related to the streaming of radio broadcast programming over the Internet, including issues regarding demands for additional fees for the streaming of recorded music and radio commercials, we and our advertisers are forced to temporarily disable our streaming.

We apologize for the inconvenience of this interruption. We are working with both our advertisers and the Recording Industry Association of America to find a solution to those problems as quickly as possible so that we can resume our streaming.

I found out how RINO's are made today. I was standing in a check-out line talking to the woman behind me about our awful republican comissioner. She said her husband told that politician a while back that he was never going to be elected in our republican county as a democrat so he become a republican.

Yes. Hooker is running for Senator and Congressman both this year. He runs for offices but says he does not want to win. He is pushing a lawsuit that would limit campaign financing to the politician's State or district. No contributions would be allowed from people who will not be represented by the politician. By continuing to run for offices, he hopes that he can use his own failures as ammunition in his case.

Here is Hooker's homepage that highlights his ongoing campaign: John Jay Hooker Center for Election & Campaign Finance Reform

I used to enjoy Phil's radio show every morning here in Philadelphia on WWDB a few years back. He was great, and at that time the station was one of the best talk radio stations in the nation. They then decided to replace people like Phil Valentine and Tom Marr (from Baltimore) with non-political lightweights and the station quickly self-destructed. I think it is a top 40 station now.

But talk radio doesn't get better than Phil Valentine and he is a passionate and genuine veteran.

The Second Amendment is rather like the enabling clause for the Constitution. (Or it should be.)

No argument here -- if only our politicos feared it as they ought.

My appologies then, I'm always suspicious of internet postings unless I can verify the source.

This is very bad news for TN and the country.

"If they pass an income tax, they plan to repeal the "Hall Tax", which is a tax on investment income..."

In a telling commentary on Tennessee Dimocrat attitudes, the "Hall Tax" on investment income (6%!) is called an "Unearned income tax"!

I understand he went after Governor Tom Ridge for public funding of a private shipyard while in Philadelphia. He is willing to take on the big boys. His Dad was a Congressman from North Carolina so he knows how the games are played and thus knows how to attack and defeat politicians' schemes.

An extreme liberal named Jeff Wentworth won again 51-49 in TX on March 12. He beat a very well-financed conservative opponent, the son-in-law of the businessman Red McCombs.

I know the race! It was a State Senate race in Central Texas. The turnout was enormous - almost Presidential-year levels. 51,000 votes were cast, more than in any Congressional race in the state by far. The conservatives turned out enmasse for Shields, giving him about 25,000 votes, far more than he should have needed to win.

Unfortunately, the race got nasty, and Wentworth (a pro-abortion, pro-tax leftist RINO) received the sympathy vote from a lot of conservatives and moderates who perceived that one Republican was getting beaten up by another. Wentworth got 26,000 votes to win by 1200. It was heart-wrenching.
