Many here will say they deserve it as a just reward for their crimes. Ok, depending upon their crime, I might even agree.

Nonetheless, I see a need to seperate the convicted violent criminal from the non violent ones...and this is surely one.

Where are the "guards" anyway?

Afraid to act because of the prisoner's buddies on the outside. My fiance has a friend in upstate NY that works as a prison guard. I discussed this issue before with him and he explained to me, "I ain't going to screw around with gang members under my watch. They can always call a brother on the outside to kill me and my family."

Scary stuff.

Exactly! You don't have to have any sympathy for violent convicts, but the fact that any form of rape occours in prison is a disgrace because it is a sign that there is NO discipline or supervision in our modern prison system, and it tells the world that the inmates are running the asylum.
