Pakistan Bus Blast Kills at Least 10

KARACHI, Pakistan -- A bomb ripped through a bus Wednesday killing at least 10 people, all believed to be foreigners heading to a hotel from the the airport, police said.

Another 20 people were injured when the powerful bomb shattered the bus, they said. It's believed that many of the passengers were Germans.

The explosion occurred in a posh southern neighborhood of Karachi where many of the international hotels are located. The bus had neared the hotel when the explosion occurred.

Sirens blared and ambulances struggled to weave through the congested traffic to reach the injured, said witnesses.

I suspect they knew that the bus had foreigners on it, and they rolled the dice that one or more of them may have been Jewish or American.

I can't imagine that terrorists would have any advance knowledge of which people would be getting on that particular bus. They just knew they wanted to blow up a bus filled with foreigners, and picking a hotel bus would be the easiest way to ensure that.

Now I know the Germans are avid travelers and god knows hey have alot of free time on their hands but I have got to think you can't be too bright venturing off to Pakistan-especially right now.

What if the non-Moslem (i.e. sane) world just simply cut the entire Moslem world off?
No more tourist visas for them.
No more student visas for them.
No more commercial ties.
No more immigration to the West
No more access to Western science, medicine and technology.
No more American, British or European tourists visiting them.
No more trade or business contacts.
No more contact period!
Ejection of all Middle East Moslems (Arabs, Palis,etc) residing in the West.

Do you think what passes for governments in the Moslem/Arab world would take notice?
I believe the Western World should do this until the Arabs have ditched Islam and their delusions of conquering the planet for Allah.

Another 20 people were injured when the powerful bomb shattered the bus, they said. It's believed that many of the passengers were Germans.

The explosion occurred in a posh southern neighborhood of Karachi where many of the international hotels are located. The bus had neared the hotel when the explosion occurred.

Sirens blared and ambulances struggled to weave through the congested traffic to reach the injured, said witnesses.

Western foreigners in Pakistan have been warned to use caution because of threats from militant Islamic groups angry about President Gen. Pervez Musharraf's support for the U.S.-led coalition's war on terror in neighboring Afghanistan (news - web sites).

These radical groups were strong supporters of the Taliban regime that collapsed under the coalition's assault.

Musharraf banned five extremist Muslim groups in January and two months later, grenade-hurling terrorists killed five worshippers in an Islamabad church attended by members of the foreign community. Two of the dead were Americans.

Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl was kidnapped in southern Karachi in January and killed by Islamic militants protesting the detention of Taliban and al Qaida in Guantanamo, Cuba. Four men accused of the killing are currently on trial in the Sindh city of Hyderabad, barely 60 miles north of Karachi.

I think back in 1997 a group of tourists were attacked at Luxor,Egypt.Over 50 were killed,mostly Germans.I don't think they necessarily target Germans,it's just that Germans often travel abroad in large tour groups.I was in Antwerp once and a German tour group from Bremen was staying at my hotel.They were middle-aged and wore matching blazers-it was kind of a travel club.They had matching hats also.
