so why is this fairy in a catholic school in the first place?

I would imagine a fairy would fight tooth and nail to get out of a repressive catholic school

Canada has a problem with free speech(they censor Howard Stern), but promoting a gay agenda is ok.

If they are so enlightened they should permit ALL speech and expression.

This is a silly ruling from a nation of silly people.

which all bar discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation

Looks like the incompetent lawyers for the Church haven't understood the difference between "orientation" and "behavior."

"This kid is an idiot. He calls himself Catholic yet cares little for the Church's teachings."

Gee, he'd make a great bishop, don't you think?

The Canadians had their chance to join the United States.

They blew it and this case right here is the price that they must now pay.

The American system is much better. The government should be allowed to decide who a kid can and cannot go to a dance with. Lighten up everyone. If the kid wants to go to a dance with a gay freak, let him.

We'll take it all the way to the Supreme Court of Canada if we have to."

Hmmmmm.....

Canada has a Supreme Court?

I didn't know that!
I guess I learned something new today!
Oh, if the Court rules in the little queer's favor, I'd boycott the event.
Heck, all Canadian Catholics should just stop paying Canadian taxes, period.

Catholic schools in Ontario are now fully funded from tax dollars.

Then they have no right to complain.

Just curious: Is it legal for a 21-year old to bugger a 17-year old in Canada?

"If the kid wants to go to a dance with a gay freak, let him."

Agreed.

And there are plenty of facilities for him to do so in the Greater Toronto Area in which he resides.

Toronto is, after all, often described as San Fancisco North.

There is also a public non-sectarian school system in which anything goes.

His attendance at a Catholic school is not forced on him. He has a right, regardless of his religion or absence thereof, to attend either school system.

But if he attends a Catholic one he ought to be prepared to accept that he will be taught according to Catholic moral principles, both in class and in extra-curricular activities.

"The church wouldn't dream of banning a Jewish date from the prom, and the public outcry would likely be greater if they did," said Hutchinson.

Wow, now there's a great analogy!

Black Elk, now here is an outrage that shouldn't be brooked. The RCC should shut down this school rather than associate the name of Christ with an abomination like this.

The Catholic Church must obey God's Law and no others. To hell with civil governments's laws and their queer agenda.

Besides all of the other comments, I had one thought. I wouldn't let my seventeen year old date a 21 year old.

Can they bar dates older than 18 from the prom?

Where are the parents???
