Check out the stories concerning how JC told Cubans that recent statements by Undersecretary of State Bolton that they have been working with Iran, Libya, and other countries on BW dual-use tech transfer are incorrect(citing contending factions within the Administration as "sources"). HOWEVER, READ THIS CLOSELY -- THE AP STORY noted that the Cubans DID NOT DENY A COOPERATION PROGRAM WITH IRAN!!!!! They said (quoting the story's interpretation of comments made by JC): "a new program with Iran is not functioning yet."

The "Peanut Man" is more trouble than he is worth. Coming out publicly against Bush admin. while he is in enemy territory ranks right up there with Jane Fonda!!

President Carter used to stand up for basic human rights in this world. He was really the first US president to sanction countries which tortured or horribly oppressed their citizens. How in the world can he be supporting Cuba with this inane trip? Cuba is one of the world's most oppressive countries.

He's always been a self-aggrandizing jerk. The fawning coverage of how much he cares about humanity is making me ill. All he cares about is getting publicity. He's a narcissistic fool! And don't tell me about his Habitat for Humanity work, either. If I had the money he has - all of it from taxpayers, especially from peanut subsidies - I'd have this kind of time, too. Grrr! Carter is such a phony!

Carter and Castro:
One is a socialist that nearly ruined his country. The other has a beard and smokes cigars.

10 freaking 4! Personal admission that he is a communist.

Carter has shown his lack of wisdom by opening his mouth. (ONCE AGAIN!)

Revoke his passport and citizenship and take him to Camp X-Ray! Carter plays like he his meek, but he has no shame in undermining the current adminstration. Both he and Clinton are two peas in a pod.

I looked up 'JERK' in the American Picture Dictionary and this is what I found. Go figure!

Carter is overstepping his bounds. If he wants to question Bush policies he should do it in the states, not while hugging Castro in Cuba.
To: CaptIsaacDavis
Carter is a Democrat. Clinton is a Democrat. Democrats have always placed Democrat power politics above national interests. Nothing new here.

Yep, that was my first reaction: "Peace in our time," declared Jimmy Fonda.

LOL! Too funny (and too true as well!)

We have three people who think they are running American policy, Clinton, Carter, and Bush.

So Carter meets with human rights activists, who undoubtedly asked for help in their cause, but instead Carter supports Castro and disses the US, betraying them. What a jerk.

>Carter plays like he his meek, but he has no shame in undermining the current adminstration. [sighs] If nothing else, this whole episode can serve as yet another example of the boundless hypocrisy of the media.
When Benjamin Netanyahu says anything that is in any way at odds with Sharon, the media portray Netanyahu as an opportunistic scum, a self-aggrandizing bastard only concerned with getting headlines and willing to compromise his own country's poltics... When Carter goes to Cuba -- as if that wasn't bad enough in itself -- and gives speeches contradicting the US administration, the media portray him as a would-be hero, a man of convictions, a man of vision "doing his best" to "build bridges" etc., etc.
Wouldn't it be terrible if one of those exploding cigars the CIA whipped up for Castro just happened to be lying around with Castro and Carter lit up?
