It is a private school that is allowed and expected to set its own rules.
What's the problem?

Agreed. Not only that, but they didn't just bounce the little girl out of the school...........they counseled the mom, offered a month's free tuition (NOT cheap), etc., etc. Seems to me they bent over backward to help here.........yet the press is trying to crucify 'em. Typical.

What's the problem? The problem is that there aren't any of the required photos to document the thread. ;-)

It could take her 40 hours in another career to earn what she can earn stripping "part-time" in a week.

sorry, baby. i have no problem here with what the school did. it is a private school and her profession violated the principles upon which the school was founded. believe me, i send my kids to catholic school, i would fully expect them to do the same thing, and justifiably so. THAT is what i am PAYING for, a school that shares my values and will uphold those values on their end, instead of diminish them. She does not have a constitutional right to attend a CHRISTIAN school, if she can't live her life according to their principles, she should send her kid to the gov't school. heck they would organize a field trip for TAKE YOUR DAUGHTER TO WORK day!

you know, they may have been willing to offer her a job in the school, in the office or elsewhere, maybe with free tuition for her child. but maybe she just likes her work...

You are basing your opinions on what you DON'T know. She CHOSE to strip for a living. She made the choice and she must live with the consequences of that choice. The school does not have to accept what she does, whether she be a stripper or an abortionist.

Look at it this way, the kid learns before first grade what some people never figure out.

Freedom of association - plain and simple.

I agree. Love the Sinner. Hate the Sin. The Child wasn;t hurting anyone.
This reeks of the same kind of attitude, that moron Betsy Hart displayed in her column the other day re: Hooters Waitresses....
Especially, considering one month left of school, they could have let the kidlet finish out......Just to avoid controversy. Curious to see how the signed agreement reads....

Mom could have kept her clothes on rather than subject her child to the inevitable. It's not the school's fault that mom decided to be a stripper.

I know 2 young women of similar circumstances. They work in the sexual entertainment business (lap dancing clubs) and both have young daughters. Both would be diagnosed with bipolar disorder if they sought help. Although they are able to maintain what looks like a fairly stable social/economic level to the casual observer their lives are chaotic and chilling. Both are obsessed with some aspect of religiosity. Lap dancers for God I guess you could call them. They can talk and give a manipulative performance of what "good" mothers they are, but this only works on people who spend a limited amount of time with them. Bravo for the courage of those who attempted to counsel this young woman. Any human working in the soul and spirit demeaning world of sex for money needs counseling and meds.
