Mr. Inspectorette and I have been praying for our President more than ever over the past few days.
These scurrilous, totally unfounded attacks are never going to let up. In fact, I only see it getting worse as elections approach, and evern worse than that in the 2004 Presidential election.
Thank God these attacks don't go unchallenged the way they used to - now that we have the Internet, talk radio, and Fox News, the idiot Demos are just succeeding in making fools of themselves. They are backpedaling like crazy right now on this whole thing (except BrunHillary - where has she been since her disgusting performance on the floor of the Senate the other day).

If they want to keep the public's eyes on the war on terrorism until after November Bush should put forth a resolution to take on Iraq/Saddam. This would take months and months for congress to debate and show who the true Americans are. The debate would take over all and any spin the rats can come up with. The GOP and Rats would be debating national security instead of HMOs and Social Security !
Even if they don't want to put forth any evidence they can say if there ever is evidence Bush needs the authority to deploy the troops etc. without going back to congress. They can even argue over the fact that they already gave Bush the authority etc..

The democrats' internal polling and focus groups must be showing a blowout in the Fall. Only this could explain their high risk assault on Bush. Apparently they have concluded that unless they undermine the nation's confidence in him on handling the war they are in trouble (to hell with hurting the nation by trying to undermine the president in time of war). Their attack followed the usual pattern: wild accusations, followed by demands to turn over classified material, knowing it could not be turned over, and then spinning it as a cover up. Given the dumbed down public (thanks to the education wing of their party) and control of public information (thanks to the media wing of their party), they thought they had a shot. But apparently, polls showed it was backfiring and they quickly backed off.

Geez, what do we have to do to gain back our power?

You can notice how Gephardt and Daschle have tried to back down on their rhetoric and still try to"save face".THEM BOYS MISCALCULATED!

I believe those negatives are high simply because of the constant, barely-concealed innuendo that Bush actually could have done more. As it sinks in and people start to digest the information, I think those numbers will moderate. Any rational, thinking person will realize that hindsight is 20/20 and that, even if Bush had issued warning to the general public (warnings were issued to various agencies), nobody knew where or when or how attacks would occur. How long would people not have flown if a warning, issued in August, lost its alarm?
One forgets why the CIA and FBI generally don't share information. Among other things, it prevents one mole from compromising the whole of our security and intelligence. Another thing--the FBI is designed to investigate crimes that have already occurred. It's going to have to reconstitute itself into preventing crimes now. That doesn't happen overnight.

BWA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!
Hitlery, Terry McPunkoff, the 'HOLE, and Impeached42 must be cryin' in their beers!
To: Johnny Shear
THIS IS THE MOST FANTASTIC NEWS - I bet Hitlery is pacing the floor and spitting expletives.
Rush was right! The public is not stupid - the sheeple are awake and fully aware of what the dems are up to - this is so good - so good indeed.
Now, like George Will suggested - they need to appoint a blue ribbon panel to look into who knew what and when they knew it. My guess is they will find out the FBI and the CIA will garner the biggest burden of guilt. These two groups need to let go of their egos and work to protect the United States, and not their own power bases.
The fact that our President has already brought them together says a lot to me. Also, perhaps now Bush will take others' advice and clear out some of the higher ups of these organizations who are determined to protect the Clinton foul-ups concerning our national security.
