The 9/11 Issue? The Democrats Must Think You're Stupid -- Well?
Toogood Reports ^ | May 20, 2002 | Paul E. Scates

OK, that´s enough. I will herein put an inglorious and unceremonious end to this drivel about ‘What did Bush know before 9/11, and when did he know it?´ It will not be a revelation, but an observation; not a bang, but a whimper…and it should make all you who have jumped on this bit of self-serving skullduggery thoroughly ashamed of yourselves…though of course it won´t, since you have no shame.

This feeding frenzy over President Bush´s supposed prior knowledge of the WTC and Pentagon attacks is simply the result of the Democrats inability to find a real issue on which to base their Congressional election campaigns this fall…and especially for the 2004 presidential campaign.

The Democrats, lead by Terry McAuliffe (By the way, just when you think Bill Clinton is the lowest form of life on the planet, the Democrats manage to find one even lower; makes you shudder to think what they have waiting in the wings, doesn´t it?) and aided by their fellow travelers in the media are hyping this idiotic trial balloon like it´s the discovery of the Watergate tapes. The economic recession upon which they had counted so heavily is waning, they know they can´t attack the war on terror (supported too heavily by the American people), and Bush´s proclaimed faith also seems to play well with the electorate…what´s a Democrat to do?

How about recycle an irresponsible and maniacal bit of stupidity from one of your minority minions, which makes it safe from an all-out assault and rebuttal from the right…right? Ah, not so…for I´m not running for office nor do I plan to, so I can point out the plain, unvarnished and disgusting truth without fear or favor, and worry not one whit about reprisals. Here is the end to this disgusting spectacle—

Will someone in the press, or someone in the CIA, please dig out and then present to the American public the number of times this same ‘smoking gun´ briefing about Al Qaeda´s interest in hijacking airliners was presented to former President Bill Clinton? Then will the Democratic Party members, hacks, and supporters—including the absolutely no-depth-too-deep so-called journalists in the national broadcast and print media—go wash your mouths out with soap and then…kindly shut to hell up!

A while back, when Democrat Congresswoman (what in the civilized world can the people of Georgia be thinking?) Cynthia McKinney first uttered this libelous bit of idiocy, most of the networks and major newspapers wouldn´t run with it, so scurrilous and self-serving…and so incredibly loathsome…was it. But in the hands of their leader, Mr. McAuliffe, it has become the holy grail, the key to disarming the ticking bomb of Bush´s high approval ratings. Just goes to show you the depths politicians will sink to for the sake of their positions and power.

Tom Daschle, McAuliffe´s Senate clone, says he´s ‘concerned´ about what Bush knew, blah, blah, blah. But he wasn´t concerned that Clinton failed to respond to the murders of our servicemen in Lebanon and Saudi Arabia. He wasn´t concerned that Clinton didn´t do jack about the bombings of our embassies in Africa. And he didn´t seem too awfully concerned about Clinton ´s failure to act against Al Qaeda when one of their cohorts tried to blow up the WTC the first time (a couple of cruise missiles into the desert sand is not a response that takes the federal government´s major responsibility, that of national defense, seriously).

And the ever-present Richard Gephardt did his best Howard Baker impression, reciting the now-famous questions about the extent and timing of the president´s knowledge. (In fact, all these characters seem to be ever-present, do they not? Just how long will we, the American people, tolerate this same group of elite dilettantes—Kennedy, Daschle, Gephardt, Lott, Specter, and on and on—in the House and Senate?)

As Jonah Goldberg has written…and re-written, bless him…McKinney is an idiot. She is the one with little enough consideration for her position to beg the Saudi prince for that money that Mayor Rudy Guiliani rejected, because it came with his opinion that our foreign policy had caused the 9/11 attacks. She is a quasi-Marxist (if she could spell communist, she´d be one of those, too), a fledgling race-baiter on the pattern of Al Sharpton, and ‘one of those blacks´ (oh, have at me, all you racialist demagogues) who sees only white evil as the source of black problems, rather than irresponsibility and lack of initiative to take advantage of the school programs, scholarships and quota-driven opportunities available to them.

And the Democrats have chosen this insidious bit of desperate, mindless and hate-filled rhetoric—to which she admitted no knowledge or evidence after her infamous radio pronouncement—as their campaign theme? This, then, is the quality of their judgment, and of their character. Might not that judgment be more-than-a-little dangerous in positions that determine U.S. policy, especially in the presidency, and especially during a war against those even more determined to destroy this nation than McKinney?

This is the ‘party of the people´? OK, but those people just called from that planet they are on, and they want all you Democrats to come back home, now…because it´s time for your medication.

This is an excellent analysis of the 'Bush Knew' smear from the Democrats but I would tread softly about blaming Clinton for too much, only because this appears, well, Clintonish. Sort of like Bush saying that "It's not my fault, it was HIS fault" and the Democrats will exploit this as 'passing the buck' because the real issue now is September 11th, not the ninties and Clinton's inaction and the failure to capture bin Laden when he could have had him. These facts should be mentioned, just not used as a total defense of President Bush.

The fact that Democrats helped de-fund and hamstring the intelligent agencies from the '70's on should be made well known, too. The President can't receive useful intelligence info without the people and resources on the ground to obtain it.

I believe that this attempt to smear and harm President Bush will die out with the American people. They know George Bush and they trust him. Democrats yapping at him for weeks on end about September 11th will get old, soon. Then were do they go? Attacking Laura? The Bush girls? Tough to be a Democrat strategy planner these days.

That's the $64,000 question. Some of these warnings this year may have been set off by patern tracking algorithms on the stock and option exchanges.

The only reason why I can think that this story could have been spiked is that the paper trail leads to a possibly embarrassing source. Here's my tin-foil contribution: The trades can probably be traced back to Saudi Arabia. More specifically, one of the well connected families or "houses." It's possible that some on Usama's family may have participated in these trades, even though that UBL has been "disowned" by some or most of his relatives. The bin Ladens are well connected and very tight with the house of Saud, the royal family of Saudi Arabia. OK, then why try to hide something like this? Because of GWB's address to the joint session on congress post 9/11 ("You are either with us, or with the terrorists."). There are very few arab nations that are friendly to the US, and among them, their friendship extends only as far as our need for their oil and their need for our cash. Saudi Arabia could go fundamentalist Islam very quickly given the right circumstances. If we publicly tracked these trades to the bin Ladens, we would then have to force the Saudi's to "put-up or shut-up" about how good of friends they really are. That would lead to a couple of possible outcomes: The Saudi's tell us to go pound sand and refuse to help allow any kind of action against the bin Ladens, trashing foreign relations with the strongest "ally" we have in that region. Or, the Saudi's go along with us and help out in dismantling the bin Laden family's fortune, which could be the provocation for the royal family to be overthrown by fundamentalist muslims.

At this point, who knows? It does't look like we are going to find out one way or another.

Waiting for his turn on the national stage is Andy Cuomo.

All the corruption of the Clinton’s, with twice the smarminess.

It doesn't matter that the charge was bogus or that the Dems might be backing off. The Dems and the Clinton News Networks played this one to the hilt and got all the mileage out of it they needed to - to diminish George Bush. The average, Opera/Rather watching American will never know that it was all BS. They will only remember the propoganda that was fed to them from the Left.

If we defeat large groups of incumbent Rats in Congress and gain a clear mathematical leadership of both houses, the rats are finished. Then, in 2003 the New Congress can start working for Americans in repealing Rat legislation, enviro actions which help the Opecker Princes and other issues. We will see a tidal wave of positive changes for our side and a cleansing one that will remove a lot of Rat stains on America.

You're much more optimistic than I am. I really can't see Congress letting go of the status quo that easily. Many of the same things were said, based on Bush being president. Instead of things getting better, they've gotten worse. So, I won't be holding my breath this fall.

the Democrats will exploit this

The Rats will exploit anything you say, so you might as well say something that hurts them.

Who was it who said "Diplomacy is the art of saying 'nice doggie' until you can find a rock"? Seems to apply here.
