I have never heard of such a thing and cannot imagine why a bunch of 15- and 16-year-old girls would want to spend 12 hours together stark naked. Any ideas? "

Just another sign the apocalypse is upon us...BTW, just the other day, Ann Landers answered a letter from the mother of the teenage girl. The mom wanted to know if its was okay for her daughter to attend a "nude slumber party" with other teenage girls (average age: 15). The "host" mother assured other parents that her husband and teenage son would be spending the night away from the house, and that nude slumber parties are in vogue right now for young girls.

Naturally, Ann said it was okay, but advised that the mother might want to ask her daughter why she wanted to attend a nude slumber party. I don't think the planned party referenced in the Landers column is the same event in Florida, but I am a little shocked by these so-called slumber parties. I have three daughters (youngest is now 19), and none of them were ever invited (nor attended) anything approaching a clothing optional sleepover. Even more shocking is that many parents see nothing wrong with it, and even lead the kids in a round of "nude jumping jacks." And the authorities insist that the Florida mom did nothing more than "make some bad decisions."

I wonder why lesbian moms in Florida and Vermont would just happen to have the same idea more or less at the same time. I wonder if some show, publication, or Web site is promoting the idea of these nude girls' parties.

The parents of these children should demand that the house where the "party" was held be searched for hidden cameras and video recordings. Maybe I'm overly suspicious, but that kind of filth floating around the internet comes from somewhere.
