It also makes a mess of gophers and woodchucks. Along with the .218 bee, they are both fantastic for varmit poppin'. Low grain weight boattail hollow points will basically explode when they hit a blade of grass so there is less worry with bullet skip.

Low grain weight boattail hollow points will basically explode when they hit a blade of grass so there is less worry with bullet skip.I've occasionally "dodged" .22 ricochets from squirrel hunters on a neighbors property (problem solved, no .22s). Ballistic performance aside, there would seem to be a significant safety improvement here. Why couldnt a similar bullet be designed for .22 or .22 mag?
