Rosie O'Donnell's eponymous mag hit the circulation skids with its May issue.
May 22, 2002 -- ROSIE O'Donnell's magazine, Rosie, has been plagued by newsstand erosion since early this year, but the numbers fell off the table in May - the issue in which the controversial talk show host came out and confirmed that she was gay.

I thought she was the closet -- or a walking armoire at least.

The June issue now hitting has 98 ad pages - up 48 percent from the same issue a year ago. Gee, do you think this could be a factor in declining sales, as well as the non-news about Rosie herself? (as if everone didn't already know)
How thick is this magazine, that it has 98 ad pages?

The May figures "dropped off a cliff," May O'Porker do the same.

200,000 is still a lot -- what, about four times that of FR, no? As I remember that FR's stat pages say we have about 50K regulars.

Perhaps it's just my opinion, but why would you read a magazine named after the same person who owns it/appears on every cover?
Just seems like a big ego trip to me...
To: jimtorr
It would be interesting to see who's buying all that ad space. And if they (or anyone else) will buy if circulation continues to circle the bowl...

Oh, no, Liz - you actually READ her mag? Say it ain't so. I hasten to add...no, no, a thousand times, no. I never read the rag.
I simply referred to quasi-stats purporting to be the rag's readership.

Don't let the garage door hit ya on the butt, Rosie!

200,000 is still a lot.... Not when you consider their target readership is about 100 million.

Yep - Rosie and Oprah both insist on being cover girls. There's no way I will buy either magazine.
Even Martha Stewart stays off the cover of her magazine and names it Living - not Martha.
Can you imagine Johnny Carson publishing a magazine called Johnny with his picture on the cover each month? Letterman or Leno or Conan??? It's just silly. I hope women are refusing to buy Oprah and Rosie, and let these insulting rags die off quickly.

Our registration is now around 83,000
Readership is probably closer to a half million.

Just wondering if K-Mart bought ad space and if Rosie's stance on guns played a role in K-Mart's financial torubles.
