A guy murders a petite brunette , doesn't take their walkman, then he de-escalates his violence, grabs women, tries to take their walkman players, doesn't have enough strength to hold them down and they escape.

Whatever. If it was the other way around, I would buy it. If the two women were attacked before Chandra, I could see the guy going further and killing her... but psychopathic killers don't work that way. The crimes tend to get worse, not lesser. They hone their skills. They tend to go for the same type of woman. The two joggers attacked were tall and blonde.

Is the theory supposed to be that this guy tried to grab Chandra's walkman, he killed her, left her jewelry and walkman... decided to risk being near her body, and say to himself... boy I enjoyed that... but the killing made me queasy... let me just half assed try to only rob tall blonde women now...

Whatever...
