I desided to post this after an aborted FReep, as of now. Many people have expectations about FReepin' that are not met and they get discourgaged. So I desided to post my own experiences, they also reflect on what others have experienced.
Rules.
1. Never expect anyone but you will show up. This is true, but one person with a sign can make a difference. The first FReep we had in Eastern Mass had after the election four of us showed up, 2500 of them, we won.
The danger involved is overstated. This is true when FReepin' the commies, Freein' the Rats is a different story, there are such things as union thugs, keep that in mind.
If you follow the DC rules you will never get in trouble. This is true out side of political rallys, cell phones and video cams have a place in protesting.
Always present a contrast in commie bashing, those people are scum and look that way, you should look like everyone else.
Don't be nice, if they want to dialog, dialog, if they are lying out their Rat hole call them on it. The words Traitor and socalist, and communist have been heard at FReeps that I have been at, the Mass modification is, if they use it first, it is permissable, but always walk away and cover your six if trouble is on the horizon.
Above all, if you called the FReep, you co-ordinate the details, never depend on someone elese. This is the thing that frightens people away. If you are going to FReep em, FReep em and the devil take the hindmost.
Alway have a story to tell the press, assume you will be interviewed and prepare.
GENERAL GUIDELINE:
Groups and individuals who utilize FRN resources are asked to uphold the highest standards of values and conduct when participating in activism or any other events which require contact with the public, the media, government officials and law enforcement officers.
SPECIFIC GUIDELINES FOR PROTESTS, RALLYS AND MARCHES:
Laws governing protests, rallys and marches may vary by locale. Spontaneous street corner demonstrations generally do not require a permit. However, prior contact with your local law enforcement agency is the best source of information.
If you contact law enforcement, let them know your plans. Give them the name of a contact person who will be in attendance at the event, along with a cell phone number, if possible.
Obey the laws and ordinances of the jurisdiction. Treat law enforcement officials and officers with respect.
Remain on sidewalks or in designated areas. Comply if requested by law enforcement to move. Don't block sidewalks to pedestrians.
Signs cannot protrude into streets. Signs should not contain profanity or racist slogans. They should be in good taste. The use of humor as opposed to anger is more effective.
Be a credit to your group. Be friendly and informative to onlookers and members of the media who may be present.
Wear appropriate dress for the event.
Respect the First Amendment rights of others. If there are counter-demonstrators, keep a distance of at least 20 feet between your group and theirs. Avoid confrontations and escalation of arguments. Never engage them with obscene gestures or profanities. Don't interfere with media coverage of counter-demonstrators.
If media is present, be respectful. If you are asked for statements, stay on topic and be concise and calm. It's helpful for your group to prepare copies of a press release in advance for distribution to media covering the event.
Bring along cell phones, audio and visual recording equipment if possible. It may prove to be helpful and sometimes necessary.
Be respectful of public property. When the protest or rally is over, make sure your area is free of trash and activity items.
If possible, adjourn to a local refreshment establishment when the activity is concluded. Discuss and analyze the event. It's a good way to be more effective in future events. It provides an opportunity for your group's participants to become better acquainted and exchange ideas. It's also great fun in the afterglow of a successful event!
Remember, your mission is to promote conservative causes within the rule of law, and to utilize the rights and freedoms accorded to us under the U.S. Constitution.
FRN conveys all heartfelt good wishes for successful patriotic conservative activities across this great land of ours!
Thanks.
As to the last point, I remember a TRT/FR FReep of the MMM a year ago wherein a guitar-case-carrying lefty walked up and hissed "there's a special place in Hell for you people." My neighbor's response was a bland "there's a special place in the library for you." The look on the guy's face was priceless...
For instance in Mass I can counterprotest anyone who is protesting, except I can't use sound, if they have a sound permit and I use sound it is considered a seperate protest and they will reqire a permit and seperate you, not for the counter protest but for the sound.
In Mass you can set up an picket line, you have to keep moving, as long as you are moving you are a pedestrian even if you have a sign.
Remember at all times DC Rules, you have no control over those that join you, this is from experience, but if violence threatens, 911, I would rather have a supporter run off, this has happened, than reflect badly on us, the cops are your friends, for the most part.
But I know I didn't need to remind everyone of that!
What to do if you happen upon a peace rally by stupid naive hemp-shirt-wearing college idiots, to teach them why force is sometimes needed:
1) Approach dumb rich ignorant student talking about "peace" and saying there should be, "no retaliation."
2) Engage in brief conversation, ask if military force is appropriate.
3) When he says "No," ask, "Why not?"
4) Wait until he says something to the effect of, "Because that would just cause more innocent deaths, which would be awful and we should not cause more violence."
5) When he's in mid sentence, punch him in the face as hard as you can.
6) When he gets back up to up to punch you, point out that it would be a mistake and contrary to his values to strike you, because that would, "be awful and he should not cause more violence."
7) Wait until he agrees that he has pledged not to commit additional violence.
8) Punch him in the face again, harder this time.
Repeat steps 5 through 8 until they understand that sometimes it is necessary to punch back.
Who are we?, The Enslaved Citizens of the Peoples republic of Mass, it plays well.
Bottom line is unless you're FReeping for the U.S. your demonstration is anit-American. period.
Anybody know anything new about Don Adams who met that fate in Philly a few years ago.
His sister used to post here.
How about a Terrorist going into PJ Foleys and killing half the pols in Boston on a Friday night. Could happen, I can see it now, the Twin Commies, Finneran and Birmingham rushed the terroist perpitrator, they were identified by DNA and and a Blood booze level lower than 3.0%.
Jack Hart, commie South Boston, declaired that a terrorist Zone existided, 93 to the West and Savin Hill to the South and the Reserve channel to the North. Ray Flynn was killed after tripping over his feet, after exiting the Store 24 on East Broadway, Blood Booze content, 3.5%.
We have a crisis in government, Tom Manino strangles after trying to speak, swallows his tounge after trying to pronounce engaged, Swifty, acting Gov, has another Kid, Mitt, Republican candidate for Governor, wants to appoint a commission from Essex, the entire Saltonstall Family commits Suicide to avoid the blame for settling the North Shore.
I love theit the possibilities.
None of these guys are going to help you shout the spit out of unAmerican socialist "peace" protesters.
