Tonight, I'm going to check out the time between his disposing of the case and when he finally admitted an affair to the police.

May 2, 2001: Condit voted five times between 11:39 AM and 4:02 PM.

The manager of Chandra's building called her apartment to check on her expected move-out date. There was no answer or reply.

Late in the afternoon, Condit had coffee with ABC News' Rebecca Cooper at the Tryst Coffee Shop in his Adams Morgan neighborhood.

Time lines for May 1&2 are very important. Let me add to your May 2 timeline. The manager in addition to calling Chandra also emailed her at the same time.

Condit had an Intel Committee meeting at 2:30 on this day.

ABC reported Rebecca Cooper was with Condit from 3:00 to 6:00 on May 2. Immediately after Condit voted she met him and they took a cab together to the Tryst Rest. (45min ride) They reportedly waited another 45 minutes for a table and were together for a total of three hours.

I can document these addition. I hope this helps.

I read Condit called AMS sometime on May 1. This probably needs to be confirmed.

With each additional update could you please hi-light the differences with the previous one?

I can't see what was added here, and therefore the significance of the new information.

Thanks for the hard work.

Can't let that tacky remark pass unchallenged! Chandra most certainly did not bring this on herself. Go stand in the corner.....you need a very long time out for that kind of remark!
I hope to God I am never as cold in my thinking as that!

When did she stop checking her voice mail?....

Obviously as soon as she received the call she was expecting.

Only then would she leave her cell phone and do as instructed.

The $64,000 question is: how did he reach her, or have her reach him, and have no documentation of that last conversation?

LEVYS PREPARE FOR MEMORIAL SERVICE

MODESTO, Calif. (AP) . Robert and Susan Levy remained in seclusion inside their one-story brick ranch home throughout the holiday weekend as family and friends stopped by to offer food, flowers and condolences over the death of their daughter.

The family was expected to attend a memorial service Tuesday that could draw a large crowd of mourners. The service could occur on the same day the medical examiner releases the cause of death.

Chandra Levy's remains were found Wednesday in Rock Creek Park, a sprawling area in the nation's capital where police recovered her skull and other bones as well as a University of Southern California sweatshirt, a sports bra, tennis shoes and other clothing.

``They're still numb,'' Jane Lund, a neighbor and longtime family friend, told The Modesto Bee after spending about two hours at the house. ``Bob can't stop crying.''

Lawyer and friend George Arata said Monday the mood inside the house was gradually improving.

``It's getting better,'' he said. ``We're just trying to keep everybody busy.''

Police said in all likelihood, 24-year-old Levy was killed. Investigators spent the weekend searching the area for additional evidence.

Her remains were found ``off the beaten path'' in rugged terrain, Police Chief Charles H. Ramsey said. In addition, police recovered Levy's knotted leggings, suggesting she may have been tied up, a person close to the investigation said.

Police said they have no prime suspect in the case. They may again interview some of the people they talked to after Levy disappeared 13 months ago, including Rep. Gary Condit, D-Calif., and Ingmar Guandique, who was convicted of assaulting two joggers in the park last year. Both victims believed Guandique wanted to rape them.

Condit, through his attorney, has expressed his condolences to the Levy family. Police have said repeatedly he is not a suspect, but the Levys' attorney said the family still believes Condit knows more about final days of the former Bureau of Prisons intern than he has said. Condit lost the Democratic primary in March.

Condit will eventually have bad karma, in time.

I suspect that your cold, heartless post (troll?) has marked a bit of bad karma on your cosmic balance slate as well.

Post 42 -- I do know he dumped the watchcase shortly before police searched his apt.

The way the police handled the search of his apt was very inept. Why tell Condit ahead of time they were coming over? It's the OJ treatment (cops in Florida asked OJ for his autograph).

Questions:

Did Carolyn Condit ever attend the luncheon at the White House which was the sole purpose for her flying to D.C.?

Maybe someone owed Condit a "favor", offed Chandra, and is holding the watch as blackmail insurance so Gary keeps his mouth shut?

The keyring could have contained a key to Condit's apartment, so the keys had to come up "missing". Did Condit have his locks changed?

Post 38, re comment about the distance - The park in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia where Condit dumped the watchcase is roughly 10 miles from his apt in Adams Morgan, his DC neighborhood. I don't know his Adams Morgan address, but I ran the addresses of nearby restaurants both in Adams Morgan and Old Town Alexandria through Mapquest, and it said 10 miles, which seems about right to me. My husband and I used to live in both Old Town and DC, and we are familiar with the park where he dumped the watchcase.

A bit paranoid to drive 10 miles to dispose of "office trash". I am still amazed at the staffer who drove him to Alexandria. You would think he would question what they were doing.

Unless, of course, he knew full well what they were doing. This guy was in on everything, would pick up the gals when Condit couldn't do it himself. He was the one who told the former paramour-staffer to keep it zipped ... frankly, he'd better lose more than just his job (now that Condit has lost his seat) when this all boils out.

Say howdy to my Phone Pal for me -- give yer new pup a hug as well!!

You're right, why did Chief Ramsey announce that they would search Condit's apartment?

Re-reading Chronology #10, it says that the police didn't begin the search until 11:15 pm!! on July 10th. Earlier that same day, Condit tried to dispose of the Tag Hauer watchcase, concealed in a Big Mac carton, in Alexandria, VA. The watch was given to him by Joleen Argentini-McKay.

Condit's senior staffer, Mike Dayton, drove the car.

Prior to the watchcase episode, Condit was interviewed by the police on: (2001) May 15, June 23, July 5 (with his wife at the FBI Field office), and July 7 (Condit admitted to an intimate affair with Chandra).

Lots of suggestive stuff, but nothing to prove Condit is a murderer.

I thought the watch was his, given to him by another paramour from his CA office much earlier. Are there two watches--his and Levy's--or am I just confused? I thought the watch box he threw away was for his watch.

Condit met with Vice President Cheney at 12:30 PM for a private meeting lasting about 20 minutes. The meeting was over by 1:00 PM.

Condit returned to his office at 3:30 PM for meetings and phone conversations with constituents.

So what was Condit doing from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM on May 1? This is a large gap in his day. Two and a half hours. BTW, do we even know for certain that he was back in his office at 3:30 PM on May 1? The claim is he was having phone conversations with constituents. Where are the phone records?

Condit (in explaining his whereabouts at a later date) claimed that he had coffee that afternoon with Rebecca Cooper (ABC News) at the Tryst Restaurant. This was later found to be a misstatement of fact by Condit.

How convenient. This sure raises a lot of red flags. You would figure Condit would be ultra-careful relating his whereabouts on the day Chandra disappeared and yet he makes a "misstaatement."

Condit left his office for a 5:00 PM doctor's appointment.

Which doctor and has the doctor's appointment book even been checked to see if Condit showed up?

Post 57: Here is everything I understand about the watch. Please correct me if any of this is not right:

(1) Condit had an affair with former staffer Joleen Argentini-McKay, which ended in 1996.
(2) When it ended McKay gave him the man's Tag Heuer watch as a gift.
(3) Chandra Levy was seen regularly wearing the same type of watch (man's, Tag Heuer) by her coworkers at the Bureau of Prisons. This is 5 years later, 2001.
(4) Tag Heuer watchcases have a serial number matching the watch. When Condit dumped the watchcase, hidden inside a McDonald's container, in the trash in an Alexandria, Virginia park, because of the serial number the watchcase was traced back to McKay, who originally bought the watch as a gift for Condit.

My opinion/conclusion is Condit probably gave Chandra the watch his ex-lover Joleen Argentini-McKay gave him years earlier, and by ditching the watchcase, which in a roundabout way could be traced back to him via McKay, he was trying to erase the Chandra connection since she always wore the watch -- otherwise there would be no reason to dump the watchcase.

Thank you very much about the watch explanation. Somehow I missed that he had given this watch to Chandra. His odd behavior regarding the box disposal becomes even more curious to me. If she was known to have his watch and their relationship was public by that point, why hide the watch? Finding it on her body would not link her murder to him as she already had it. What am I missing here?
