Any perverts here? Uhm, that would depend on, uh, what you had in mind...

I thought Chandra paged Condit only twice, but checked her own answering service many, many times (48 times? or some large, obsessive number) to see if he'd called her back. I forget where I read this, but someone else may know exactly.
The fact that she checked her own answering service an enormous number of times, but left her cell phone in her apt when she went out, says to me she'd heard from Condit -- if she hadn't heard from him she would have taken her cell phone when she went out, since she was so obsessive about checking for messages.

Here's why you should care about Chandra: Condit still sits on the House Intellegence committee. His escapades make him subject to blackmail by our enemies. If he is "cleared" he could very well be re-elected in a few years.
Clinton put us in the same position. That's why it's not "just about sex." When it's a high government official their illicit behavior compromises our national security.

"There was a comforter on the floor near the apartment's entry door".
Strange place for a comforter.

The floor was not necessarily a strange place for the comforter. She was packing and getting ready to move out. She could have put the comforter on the floor by the front door, preparing to take it to the laundry (did her apt building have a laundry room or washer/dryers in each apt?) or pack it.

Good. Whichever - 48 pages, or 48 checks of the answering service (that being a local call, it must be logged by the answering service, not the phone company, yes?) plus all the other insights we have from Ms Zamsky tells us she was indeed obsessed, which might have in the end provoked Condidit who wanted treat the affair the same way he treated his other affairs - screwing another groupie with no long term obligations.
Now the blanket on the floor and no cell phone could mean that she left the apartment in a hurry. Was she wrapped in the blanket while sitting on the computer? The phone rings, the call from Her Guy at last at 12:57PM after he leaves Chaney's office, hurry up, the Klingle mansion as we agreed. Or else someone at the door to take her there. Mikey, or some other Condidit flunky with a master's degree in political science from an exclusive Eastern seaboard university. Other brother Darrell perhaps who about this time disappeared from his FloriDUH construction job?

Suggestion: it would be good if after each date and bit of information, you had links to a published reference/published news source.
I realize it would be a lot more work, but links to a published reference/news source for each item would make this chronology extremely valuable, especially as time passes and the tragedy is not so fresh in people's minds.

Mrs. levy told him she had noticed from the phone bills that Chandra had called him late at night and often. He assured her that this was common practice in Washington due to the late hours that Congress is in session and the long hours that Congressmen work. Common practice for AN INTERN WHO IS NOT ON YOUR STAFF?? Too bad Mrs. Levy didn't follow up by adding this.

Did the investigators find the watch Condit gave her?

Condit was seen suspiciously placing something in a trashcan in Alexandria, VA. A report was made to the police. The investigation found a watchbox for a Tag Hauer watch they traced back to Joleen Argentini-McKay. The watchcase was packed inside a Big Mac container. Condit's senior staffer Mike Dayton drove the car. Police later confirmed with Bureau of Prisons co-workers that Chandra wore a man's Tag Hauer watch. Just the same way Clinton was giving Monica gifts that he had been given by someone else -- the cheapskates.

Did the investigators find the watch Condit gave Levy? I don't know, but I haven't read or heard anything about it being found.
To me, finding the watch is a big deal. Since Condit went to such lengths to try to get rid of the watchcase, if he killed Levy he might have taken the watch to erase the connection between them. Or the watch might have come off in a struggle and be missing in the woods, another reason he tried to get rid of the watchcase.

You bet it's a big deal...the most significant piece of evidence linking Condit to Chandra, even if it is missing. Maybe more so because it is missing, as Condit felt the watchcase was important enough to dispose of in such an odd way and place. That's a lucky break.
Her ring was found so robbery wasn't the motive.
Thanks for your reply.

If the May 24 supposition by the police is correct and she was not killed in that spot in RCP but in another location, I have my doubts that the watch will be recovered.

I wonder if the DC police interviewed Condit's staffer, the one who drove Condit out to the VA park to dump the watchcase.
Condit seems to be ultra-secretive, but the fact that he had a staffer drive him to an out-of-the way trashcan is also weird. They must be bosom-buddies.

Since she logged off her computer about 12:30 p.m. and left her apt. with only her keys, most people conclude she went to meet someone (Condit). Common sense says she would have been wearing the watch to keep track of the time, since she was going to meet someone/might be waiting around (also taking the Walkman to pass the time).

I don't know if the driver was interviewed - but, surely, yes. Then again....

... but the fact that he had a staffer drive him to an out-of-the way trashcan is also weird. Even more weird, that lame excuse he gave to Connie Chung, he was just getting rid of office trash. Um ... yeah, right, Gare. And that trash bin was HOW MANY MILES away from your office??????
Pathetic.
To: Old Lady
Agree with your *common sense* post. :)

Yes, his excuse about office trash is pathetic and weird. Shades of O.J. and chipping golf balls. Remember Condit's weird, high-beam, ghoulish smiles as the media chased him all last year? One look and you knew he was a nut.
