Hey, being "new at this" ya did a dang good job! Thank you for this post, cause I've never heard of "CAP". I'll pass the word, and God bless you for your great service to our great country!

Some of the best (and worst) times of my life were spent as a cadet in the N.H. Wing... and a Sr. member in Virginia... So, a bump for a great organization...

Thanks for the info. I am a ham and always was interested in joining up with CAP. That page has enough info to give me what I need to know. Thanks and be safe!@

Finally, a newbie posts something good. Thank you for your service. USAF bump. And I'll see if the bratling is interested. We hadn't thought of that before.

CAP is a great organization. We work with the CAP at the annual Watsonville Airshow. Here is a link to the
Squadron 13 web page, and a picture!

A bump from the one-time mascot of a WW II era CAP unit in Oklahoma.
Had 44 hours in my log book before I went to first grade. And could read an aerial map and navigate for my mom and dad before I learned how to read.
I can say with confidence that, at no time did any U-boat ever penetrate the Salt Fork of the Arkansas River.

Bump and good luck to you! The CAP cadet program is still one of the best experiences a young person can have. It got my son going in the right direction (he is now a 68Foxtrot in a Guard unit as well as a CAP Cadet Captain), so I've seen what it can do.

Welcome to Free Republic. Stick around and post more often.

BUMP from a 70 YO Senior member. If I didn't believe in CAP I'd be sitting in my rocking chair telling anyone who isn't interested that the young people have gone to hell. Yes it is a great organization, and all the services have gained from the CAP. Especially us old timers.

Bump to the top for the CAP!

BTTT from another senior member (55 y/o) of the CAP.
The CAP is one of the most underknown organizations in this Republic. Fortunately, I was able to become a Cadet in 1961, and was treated as an adult, given responsiblilities beyond my years, and was involved in many SAR missions, including the '62 Hurricane rescue/cleanup. Between the CAP (Cadet 1st LT) and the Scouts (3rd Generation Eagle), I was more than well prepared for anything which came my way later in the military.
a big SALUTE for your leadership and service!
Keep the Faith for Freedom

This former AF crew chief has just applied for senior membership.
Thanks for the reminder - I'd thought of this long ago but put it off. No more!
