I really think this is all gossip. I think Rudy Guiliani is either gonna run for Senator or Governor of New York. He will help Bush get re-elected in 2004 but thats about as far as he is going to go. I don't think Cheney will leave. He seems to be doing fine as far as his health goes.

I think Rudy is contemplating the 2008 Presidential election and would need to prove himself as VP in order to be a viable candidate in 2008. VP is usually stepping stone to Presidency unless you come from Arkansas LOL.

In fact, I suspect Guiliani is just as much a health risk as Cheney.

Someone else from NY has his eyes on the VP dream- George Pataki. Giuliani is probably a little more conservative than the Governor, but then again to be conservative in NY is to be just a more likeable Mario Cuomo. This state hasn't had a true conservative Governor in ages.

I think you are probably right. I do think being Senator would drive Rudy insane. I mean, if being in charge of a cabinet level department isn't enough autonomy for him, how would he like negotiating with 99 other nudnicks on everything from the correct tire pressure in mountain bikes to the official insignia of the Parks Dept., and only then after the issues have been fully hashed out in committee.

I think he'd make a great Junior Senator from New York.

Cheney is a team player. He has always known that they would need another VP inorder to run for president in 2008. My pick was RG months ago on this site.
