This is a new welfare program for bureaucrats in Washington. Our esteemed and conservative President feels that in additional to the FBI, the CIA, the NSA, the Coast Guard, the Border Patrol(no joke we have such an agency), the DEA, the ATF, and the National guard, we need an office for homeland security. Just one more agency will make us all safe and secure. In case you are confused, you are supposed to be. I thought it was the Dept of Defense's job to secure the homeland, but Bush has other plans. In plain English, the office of homeland security is nothing more than a cheerleading agency, but it probably makes Bush feel better. It is paramount that the President feels good about this, because he is a compassionate conservative, and if you disagree you are probably a Democratic schill or as intolerant as Hitler, or both.

Seems this would be a natural responsibility for the position of National Security Advisor. I guess if given the added pressure of this task, she'd not be able to sit with legs crossed, holding a pencil against a legal pad with one hand, with chin propped against clinched fist of the other. This might require that she actually stand, speak, and interact with the public.

If forced to choose, I'd much prefer Mark Levin over GWB. At least Mark's agenda is to clean up that elitist clique in D.C.

If forced to choose, I'd really prefer Mark Levin over Alan Keyes. At least the former is witty.

Keyes thinks that because no one has told him what went wrong, no one else knows either. (Of course Keyes is also convinced that he knows what went wrong.)

Mark Levin says that none of the suspects they had at the time was a hijacker....none of the lapses we know of now, if corrected, would have prevented 9/ll.

Levin says the problem is not the President, it's Congress. They have slashed defense & intelligence spending & created the cultures at the FBI & CIA...

There's something wrong here.

The war is being carried to the enemy.

What the hell does Keyes think has been going on? What was the war in Afghanistan? A garden party?

Homeland security is about defending the HOMELAND! Not about attacking the bad guys overseas. That's what SF is for.

Levin was dead on, as usual, about congressional culpability.

Be Seeing You,

Chris

Keyes' other guests in this debate besides Mark Levin: Jed Babbin, Former Defense Dept. Official and Cliff May, Foundation for the Defense of Democracies (isn't he also a 'Republican strategist'?).

Babbin said that this new reorganization of the agencies is 'as big a sham as federalizing airport employees'. Mark Levin and Keyes enthusiastically agreed. May did not agree.

About time somebody said that. Did Mark mention Torricelli dating Bianca Jagger and being henpecked by her into revealing the names of CIA agents?

Rep. Nick Smith compares Office of Homeland Security to policeman putting on a bullet proof vest...Department of Defense to the gun.
