DEHRADUN: Amid heightend tension on Indo-Pak border, Naval chief Admiral Madhvendra Singh said on Saturday that the armed forces were fully geared for battle at four hours' notice.

"All the three forces are fully prepared for war. It is for the leadership of the country to decide. We are capable of swinging into action at four hours' notice," Admiral Singh told reporters here after reviewing the passing out parade at the Indian Military Academy.

Stating that tension on the border had been mounting for the last five-six months, he said that in case of war, the Navy would play a very crucial role to exert pressure on the southern flank.

Four hours? He'll have forty minutes. His major fleet elements should already be at sea.

What you have to know is "Have they gone to port and starboard watches?" Does 50% of the crew have to remain on board all the time. Have they taken on ammunition lately? Have they increased their ship's crew to wartime levels.
