Need help finding a free or very cheap web hosting service.

I have a question for all of the internet-savvy freepers out there. I have a number of "stations" on MP3.com that have had banners and other graphics added to them. These graphics used to be hosted on a web page that I had up. Since then I've turned off the web page, but I would still like to be able to post my graphics on MP3.com. I've checked out a few different "free" web page services but I can't find one that will allow me to have graphics that can be accessed by other web pages. I've only got about 500k of files to put up, not even half a meg of data. Does anyone out there know of a free or very cheap web hosting service that will allow me to do this, that is worth using?

It is Sony's image parking site. I like them.

Many ISPs allow the hosting of small amounts of web stuff as part of their package. Have you checked with yours?

Does this service allow you to post one of your images to an external web page? For example, can you put one of your pictures here on this thread? (pick a small one, if you decide to give it a go).

I can't seem to get any response from customer support concerning this. I'm on MSN, and no-one has answered my email yet. I could give them a call. *sigh*. That's always fun.

I have a free one that you can use. The only problem is that you need to read Polish:
www.republika.pl

Otherwise, I know that this one used to also offer it:
www.polbox.com

If you still have trouble finding something by tomorrow, let me know and I'll sign up an FTP-able Polish site for you. Free!

I was just about to say Akamai, then remembered you said "cheap." Akamai hosts images, but it ain't cheap.

Do you have DSL or a cable modem? Very often they (or whatever ISP you use) offer free webspace that can be used for this purpose. My own provider--Speakeasy.net--is great in that regard. I have several whole sites hosted in my "free space", and use the stealth redirect feature of MyDomain.com to offer "real" URLs to my church, my community association, my political organization, etc. This is the way to fly ...if your ISP offers you webspace!

Like this?

This is where I store personal images and all on the space my ISP allows me. I'm sure you can do the same. Just have the page you want your images inclue the HTML to your page.

Again, my problem is that I'm on MSN since they're the only service that I can get for DSL in this area. I've sent them e-mail about this, but I get no answer. I still havn't finished patching the hole I punched in the wall of my office from the last time I called "tech support" over there. Suffice it to say that the very moment that I can get another provider for DSL my e-mail address will be changing. So, for the moment, I would much rather use, oh, pretty much anything else for hosting my measly little 500K worth of images.

Check your FReepmail. I've already opened an account for you and your password is in your mail. Just don't post anything that will get me into trouble :-)

You MUST confirm according to the instructions I've translated. This should work immediately. You can also go to the webpage once you're up and running and skip the FTP client. This company has a great java interface for uploading. Just go to the main page: www.republika.pl and click on the 3rd button at the top. This will open their java based FTP client. 2 Kewl.

Oh, one more thing. You must upload a page with the name index.htm or index.html within 14 days or your account is closed.

I've been thinking about trying this site,

 mostly for the email accounts.

http://powweb.com/pow1detail.html

200 meg storage, 16 gig bandwidth, and 100 pop3 accounts

for $7.77 a month

I looked at the FAQs for MSN and there's no mention of web hosting there. If they had it, they'd be touting it and answering question on how to do it, so it's a pretty good bet that it's not something they offer.

I had checked out their site as well and couldn't find anything. I thought it was me, but now that you mention it you are probably right.

I take it you are in the 509 area code?
Here is a list of available DSL provider (this first page is A thru C).
When you find one you like, you can get info on their service from DSL Reports
