You should post this on todays day in the life thread. Those chicks all claim that dissent it ok, so long as it is on topic (today's events). This should be a good opportunity to test that.

Mr. President, if million dollar bills existed, how high would the pile representing your recent spending sprees be?

I'll bet homeowners are more Republican than Democrat!!

Anyway, this is just getting out of hand. Every week the guy comes up with something that Clinton would not have dared do for fear of being labled a liberal. Why just minorities? I am closing on a house on 6/28. Why should I subsidize someone else just because I was born with white skin?
Mr. President: Do you believe that we should all be judged by the content of our character or by the color of our skin?

Something to think about for those who say Bush is better than Gore would have been: if Gore were pres, the Senate would filibister every giveaway program he tried to start up. With Bush, the GOP Senators ENDORSE them.
On the other hand, how would Gore be doing with the War on Terror? Scary thought, that....

I wonder if you read the part about LOANS and TAX CREDITS? This is no different than a GI Bill. Giving people a loan to buy a home is an investment in the future. A tax credit is a way to cut taxes isn't that a conservative idea? How is helping people buy a home against anything that conservative want for people?
If you say that the constitution does have a place for home loans then we should not have had the Louisiana Purchase and the westward expansion of America through the offer of cheap land to "Homesteaders"

Because, like all liberals, he believes that blacks and hispanics are too lazy to get ahead on their own.
They must be vomit-fed like baby chicks, from the regurgitating mouth of the mama-bird state.

Mr. President: Do you believe that we should all be judged by the content of our character or by the color of our skin? It looks like the answer is obvious. Bush is trying to "LBJ" Hispanics.
I'll never vote for the guy again.

Yeah, God forbid that we do anything that might convince minorities to become conservatives (after they discover the joys of owning property in America).

You know population stats say that about 52% of US citizens are women and 48% are men.
Doesn't that make us guys a minority?

Yeah, God forbid that we do anything that might convince minorities to become conservatives (after they discover the joys of owning property in America).
First, one of the primary joys of owning property is knowing that you were the one that worked to get it and second, WHEN DO WE HAVE TO BRIBE People to become CONSERVATIVES??????!?!?! ARE YOU INSANE?
To: nravoter
I bought my first home three years ago. Basically, with nothing. My husbands first bonus with his company just about covered the closing costs and the FHA mandated 3% down payment and , thankfully, good credit and low debt.
Three years later, we sold the house for almost $30,000 more than we paid for it, bought a new home with a 15% down payment. No government handouts here, unless you consider the FHA programs as such.

So I take it then that you believe it is ok for the government to judge people by the color of their skin? If not, then how do you support this proposal?
To: Rodney King
Oh, he will be.
The 2000 election demonstrated that the GOP does not need the mythical my-way-or-the-highway "conservative base" to win.
And that just frosts certain folks.

Giving people a loan to buy a home is an investment in the future. This program isn't creating new wealth--it's simply transfering wealth from one group to another. The banks making loans don't magically have more money to lend, they're just told to give it to different people than that would have chosen on their own (and common sense tells you that those who weren't the banks' first choice as loan recipients are those with bad or no credit history and who are more likely to default).
Now, as for the government (our) money being pumped into this boondoggle, that money could have been spent better on a Constitutional government function (like DEFENSE), or by giving it back to the taxpayers. Either of those two choices would have had the same economy-stimulating effect, probably with less wasted in overhead and fraud/waste/abuse. Besides, it's OUR money!
