Hi ane. I don't mind if you disagree, but I would hope you would tacitly admit that it not so easy to just "dismiss" the article as if it is worthless. What specifically is it that you disagree with him about? Discipline?

Happily, the chances of that occurring are impossible.Indeed, you are free to snorkle in a noisome moral sewer for a long, long time yet.
Enjoy.

Believe me - it is quite easy to dismiss it as worthless."Don't offer me those small white hard beads," grunted the pig. "I know true wealth," he squealed. "I love to roll in it and squish it between my little pig feet. Ah, heaven!"

Chesterton is wrong, and a perfect example of the pseudoscholarship you lunatics love and follow with the devotion of Jonestown koolaid drinkers. Brilliant, pure, undiluted ad hominem comeback. You have absolutely nothing logical, rational, or coherent to say, so you denounce those with whom you disagree as "Jonestown koolaid drinkers". Pitiful.
without regard to the essential humanity of the couples he so snidely affects.
Are you claiming that people who have intercourse without putting on a raincoat or polluting their bodies with chemicals aren't "essentially human"? Sick, sick, sick!
And then, you turn to childish threats:
Mercifully, you will never be allowed the political upper hand again, and if you attempt to seize it, the results will be catastrophic for you.
Call me a "Jonestown koolaid drinker" all you like. You sound a whole lot like a Nazi. Hint: your next step is to compare us to bacteria.

So I take it this is real? I'm not that into the history of early 20th century American psuedo-philosophers so you'll have to forgive my ignorance. To me this thing reads like a rather long Zweibel "rant" from The Onion. The very thought that people might think this guy has a point is frightening.

What's sad is the moral liberals thinking Chesterton worthless, and coming down in ultimate agreement with Sanger. The bottom line for them is free sex at any cost. Yes...truly sad...

I think anybody that has an opinion on whether or not my wife and I should fornicate how and why is worthless. And you shouldn't run around telling people what they believe until you actually know what you believe. I can agree medical technology should be available through normal free market channels and still think Sanger was a crazy broad. Kind of like how I can agree that Volkswagon made great cars and still think Hitler was a raving psycho. Agreeing with somebody on one thing doesn't mean buying into their entire life philosophy.

Its funny how some subjects irk the moral liberalsOh, that's a fair and objective statement. Glad to see you're still interested in proper intellectual debate...

The difference between you and Chesterton is that he is blessed with innocence and humility. You only consider one thing...some faceless entity 'imposing' their will on your sex habits...as if anyone could. I don't care if you use contraception. I have every right to try and persuade people to my point of view by civil debate...something moral liberals are incapable of.
It is, as Chesterton states rather succinctly, the falsification of fact by the introduction of self.
If a person is truly to learn anything at all, he must first subtract himself from the study of any solid and objective thing.

I posted the thread, and I responded rather pleasantly to attacks on my person, and that is the best reply you can come up with? If you want to debate, I am willing. regards.

The full claim of the poor would be to have what they considered a full-sized family. If you cut this down to suit wages you make a concession to fit the capitalist conditions. What's wrong with making a concession to fit the capitalist conditions? And why are these Catholic threads invariably anti-capitalism?
To: Lamont Cranston
Oh, that's a fair and objective statement. Its a very fair statement considering that some people got extremely upset by the mere posting of the article. Can you explain that behavior?

Let's see who has more humility: the person who thinks everybody should follow their moral code even in their most private and intimate moments or the person who doesn't want to know what's going on in other people's bedrooms ever?
I'm not "concerned" with some faceless entity (that is his picture at the top of the thread right? Guess he's not that faceless) imposing their will on my sex habits, I just want them to shut the hell up. And let's not lie here, you DO care if I use contraception, otherwise you wouldn't have posted this 75 year old screed.
As for Chesterton's "falsification..." that's just high talking BS. The facts here are quite simple. I'm married, my wife and I don't like kids, anybody who thinks we're not allowed to have an enjoyable sexlife because of it should get bent. If you and your spouse want to only fornicate to breed go right ahead, not my problem not my concern, not my issue, not my business, even if I had an opinion I'd keep it to myself.
If a person is to learn anything at all they should stop pretending they know everything.

There is a difference between the American situation and industrial England. So the morality of birth control is relative in your view?
