Good idea! I need to purge my bookmarks also for some of these! I didn't realize the Orlando Sentinel was part of this deal either.

Very few posts from the Sun, they are history.

I've posted a few from the Sun regarding the Maglev issue.
No problem boycotting them, though.
I'm rooting for the project to be awarded to Pittsburgh anyway.
The less publicity for Baltimore, the better!!!

Oh, that Socks C..., well I certainly hope he/she was not too severly injured. Anyone out there hear from FR's Socks C lately?

It would be interesting to develop a computer program to automatically rewrite news articles to preserve the "facts" and quotes from the articles, but sufficiently different to avoid copyright issues.

Running an article through Babelfish a few times might do it.

Can we not post articles at all from these publications, or can we only include just a short excerpt and link from the sources you named?

Holy crap....

I assume this laundry list of periodicals (I assumed there was just one or two other ones when the settlement was announced) will be put into the page when we try to make a new thread? Better yet, the software could forbid us posting anything with these periodicals as the source.

We can't remember all of this on our own, I don't think.

I didn't realize the Orlando Sentinel was part of this deal either.

Neither did I.
I didn't use it much, but I think maybe I should give summer a "ping" alert.

The only one that has me irked a bit is Newsday.
I used that a LOT.
But just for the AP wire stories, I should be able to pick them up elsewhere.

Actually, ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to see a thorough and very dedicated campaign to expose the left-wing bias of all these publications. Start threads with short excerpts and links. Stay absolutely within the limitations of the settlement agreement at all times.

And slash them to ribbons.

They got it coming.

We can start with the Los Angeles Times, Newsweek and the Washington Post. Let's do it.

Here is the link for AP stories at the Las Vegas Sun. I found it while trying to keep from going to the WP website that Drudge sent me to!

Exactly, kristinn. One of the things I have noticed in my rabid news foraging is that SO many of the people I hear - even supposedly primary news sources - Conservatives AND Liberals- obviously spend a lot of time and get a lot of info from foraging at FR. Cutting off access to FR from their news is simply taking themselves out of the loop!

On the other hand, from the quality of news they dish out, maybe they don't WANT people remembering what they said a few months ago - liberals are always wrong and time tends to prove them so.... :)

Thank you VERY much for that info! I had no idea...

For some reason, I was pretty sure that one would interest you!

No pressure to join the boycott some of us are talking about, that's strictly voluntary. But you do need to be mindful of the posting restrictions we have, and I figure that's probably one of the ones you use a lot. My guess is you probably know other Florida FReepers who use it as well, you might want to pass the word.

Such programs exist. I posted a link to one on sourceforge a few months ago.
