I went to one of those schools in 1971. My talent was being antisocial and getting kicked out of "regular" public school. We spent our days walking around the ho-stroll talking to drunks and hookers, to "get a better perspective on how evil society is and how it is responsible for creating these poor victims." Thank God I also had a few mentors in my life, and a desire to be a decent human being. What's missing in these people is called "soul" - well, no - they do have one, it serves the dark side. An excellent point. I am told that the Ithaca Community regularly sends its juvenile delinquents and other "troubled" youngsters to this school in lieu of a "juvvie hall" or residential treatment facility. Sadly, they blend right in to the chaos.
