There's also the golf-course assassination, where an RPG-type rocket is lobbed onto a golf green, taking out the security vehicle and leaving the golfers to be mowed down by rifle fire.

Looking ont he bright side, perhaps they'll get OJ as he searches for the real killers.

Also, for anyone who can pass a criminal history check, and letter of recommendation, I highly suggest you check out Storm Mountain Training Center. It is one of the best, if not the best tactical training schools in the US. If the terrorists do try to use that kind of attack, you will be much more prepared to handle it.

However, the dismaying part of all this is that our government (yup, including the Repubs, including GW and his otherwise competent cabinet) simply cannot get away with doing anything remotely like you're talking about.

Could Al-Queda do anything and still count on us not retaliating? That's what I'm afraid of.

If there is some "threshhold" damage they inflict on us which would trigger a massive response from us against some terrorist state (say daisy cutters, or nukes), our government is (probably prudently) not saying what that threshhold is.

But, the scary thing is that evey they (i.e. our government) doesn't know what the threshhold is, or (worse) the threshold is up for grabs (like our posture toward Arafat).

Everyone keeps saying this is a whole new ball game. I agree. And, it looks like we're having to learn the rules by trial and error as the play proceeds.

Hey, Eugene is a nice place, just take out 4 or 5 crack houses in Whitaker, throw the transients out of Alton Baker Park and off of 13th street..oh, yah, and get rid of the EMU (home of Belushi's zit immatation), and you would have a really nice town. We would awaken a huge group of people and unite their anger toward a common goal - the eradication of the west, period. Just as we get upset at our symbols being desecrated, they would get just as upset... Now, if we want to take on the entire Islamic world, then that's a different matter completely.

Keep in mind, that getting rid of radical Islamists is not the same thing as getting rid of Islam. This is NOT the Spanish Inquisition (no Python jokes, please). We are not trying to eliminate all things Islamic - If we were, we would have done so much more neatly and rapidly than to work with the cobbled-together coalition that the President has put together.

I don't think it would go down like that. For one thing, if it happens here in Texas, there will be some concealed carry guys taking a bunch of terrorists with them-- and those guys would immediately be American heroes. Aside from that, all the gun shops would be immediately sold out, long before anyone could pass a law.

Finally, any attempt to disarm Americans after an event like that would result in massive street demonstrations nation-wide-- and I'm willing to bet that both the cops and the military would be marching with us.

Bush isn't going to have the disarming of Americans on his conscience-- particularly since one event like that is likely to give rise to more. And-- look at Israel-- lots of folks there armed to the teeth-- particularly parents on school buses.

You guys are worrying about nothing-- it just won't happen.

Rush Limbaugh has the most listeners on the radio and the mayor is a Republican, albeit, a moderate.

I get many hi fives, Semper Fi's, right-ons and atta-boys for the Bush 2004, NRA, OFF and several pro-gun bumper stickers on my Ford SVT White Lightnin' pickup...

I'm going on twelve years here and wouldn't live any place else, besides it's fun to light up the liberals... :o)
