White House Says Court Ruling On Pledge Is 'Wrong'(Graham: Constitutional Amendment If Necessary)

I know this is my amateur "devil's advocate" position, but I can't help wonder if this
ruling isn't the beginning of the end of the public school system.

If the secularists/jurists truly fortify the "wall" between church and state...
some innovative attorney will file (and win) a decision that citizens can't be forced
to pay taxes to fund a "G-d Free" environment in public schools.

I know that's a long-shot (or DOA), but can't help wonder if it's a possible
"unintended consequence" this legal panel didn't forsee.

"I can't help wonder if this ruling isn't the beginning of the end of the public school system."

I understand the emotional uproar surrounding this issue, but frankly, if people want to truly start to roll-back socialism in this country, they need to start with the public-school system, as you allude to. Socialism, progressivism, etc. got their foothold in this country, imho, when mass public education was mandated. Withdraw your children from the public schools and have them homeschooled (is this even a verb?) or educated in a private school. I think a mass exodus from the public schools will be the first step in the long march back from socialism.

How's this for a devil's advocate position:

If there was ever any doubt how tightly the left has this society wrapped up, the proof is on this "issue". Conservatives going off thinking to themselves that they are taking "conservative" stances, not even realizing that by doing so, they are actually conceding to about 101 liberal policies and programs in the process.
Does anyone realize that by demanding that the pledge be returned to the public schools, you "conservatives" are conceding that:

1 Public schools have a right to exist

2. Public schools have a right to make attendance compulsory

3. Agents of the state have a right to "educate" children

4. Agents of the state have the right to userp parental rights.

5. Agents of the state have the right to make parental decisions.

I could go on and on. This pledge issue is nothing but a distraction. It will make for good talk radio for a few days, but it is really irrelevant to real conservative issues in the long run.

I am thinking the same thing. When the public money is removed from the system, the power to dictate this nonsense goes away. The Boy Scouts told the govt to stick their UNICEF and federal support, sticking to their religious principles (banning gay scout leaders) . That appears to be what needs to happen with parents and school kids across the nation to maintain our religious principles and freedoms.

While the terrorists attack the nation and our way of life from the outside, the leftists/non-believers attack us from within. Both are just as dangerous.
