July 2, 2002 -- ALBANY - State Democrats announced a radio advertising blitz yesterday, blaming Gov. Pataki for the lagging upstate economy in a spot that uses a paid actress masquerading as a New York "grandmother."
The 60-second commercial, which Democrats said would run starting today in every media market north of The Bronx, features an elderly-sounding woman blaming Pataki for upstate's woes.

"My oldest son moved his family to Atlanta three years ago. You see, he couldn't find another job here in upstate New York." Hey, hillary!'s the one that promised she would do something about this problem if she was elected.

"Why yes..........ahem, harrumph..........well, ahhhhhh.......in addition to the Internet, it's well known that I'm credited for inventing the 'phony gram'."

Hillary promised thousands of "high" paying jobs for the upstate region of NY but so far none of them have materialized. Most of the new openings were brought in by the Pataki Administration. Now we have Andrew Cuomo Jr. telling upstate voters that if elected he will bring in the needed jobs. Are these jobs for the voters they bring in off of grave stones? Lots of Luck!

Reminds me of Hillary!'s senate commercial with the "man on the street" interviews in NYC which turned out to be paid campaign staff workers whose residence were in Florida.
And I moved to NC for both job opportunity and weather. Neither of which upstate NY provide.

Farrell, who said the words for the commercial came "from stories I heard around the state,"Reminds me of an incident during one of Clinton's campaigns. He made some statements to the effect that (paraphrasing), "I've seen the farmer in Kansas who isn't making enough money. I've held the woman who is desperately trying to feed her children"..........you get the idea.
Some reporter attempted to track some of these people down, but they were non-existent.
The Dems came out and said that there was truth to the ads, they were 'composite people'.
Perhaps some of you recall that.
