LA Mayor Calls for Greater Victim Disarmament
Fox News | 7/4/02

Posted on 07/04/2002 3:28:02 PM PDT by pabianice

Less than three hours after a criminal opened fire in the International Terminal at Los Angeles Airport killing two, and before any other facts were known, the mayor LA spoke to camreas and said this crime was the reason we have to further reduce the avaialbility of guns to the law-abiding.

Is brain damage a requirement for holding this office?

At least one of the military commentators on Fox reminded the program host that the bad guy had both a knife and a gun. He said that we should concentrate on the person and not on the type of weapon used. He obviously was responding to the mayor's statement.

Heard that, too. He was so shocked and outraged by the shooting, and so concerned for the families of the victims that he just had to squeeze in a little pet partisanship...

No, but it *is* a requirement for voting! This country keeps electing dumber and dumber idiots into office. We get the government we deserve, sadly.

Actually, that was California congressman David Dreyer(sp?). He's a Republican rep from that area.

The spotted brain liberal's seeking to ban the citizens of the U.S. from protecting themselves are no better than the perp who did this.

Tom Bradley was one of Los Angeles' longest serving mayors. That's a sure clue about the answer to your question.

I heard Congressman Dier of California say those exact words on Fox News Network earlier.

Brain damage is a prerequisite for most elected offices. SOME have been elected without it--but few.

Once the damage is confirmed, the politician may be appointed to a judgeship.

I heard him at the briefing, millions of guns in this country and people (actually) walking around with them.

Just another chance for the HCI folks to get in a dig.

absolutly!

what a low down political move that was...

he the mayor had his say, then the important people had their say, and the one cop was trying to close down the press conference. and here the mayor interupts for more face time...to say.. tht congresswoman so and so is here...sure she is a demo...and of course had to fit red davis's name in there...

plus. he had to go on how he had this great plan that he has wanted to implement of of course too many guns thrown in just for good measure..

. typical democrat!

Grave dancing gun grabbers usually don't wait long, but I must say that this guy probably broke some sort of record.

They revel in death like ghouls.

It's time to bring back literacy tests as requirements for voting.
