After reading the thread earlier last night titled: "What if it has all been a big fat lie", I thought that just maybe it was time for a little actual history to these events. Decide for yourself.

Remember the Woody Allen movie, 'SLEEPER'? Didn't he wake up in the 22nd century to be told that cigarettes and doughnuts were actually healthy for you and that people were dying from low fat meals because they believed a lie?

After reading this, (or at least trying to), I'm going to go back to my Atkins diet breakfast, a three egg omlette with cheese and a half pound of sausage, then snack on cheese throught the day, looking forward to a juicy burger for lunch and a steak for dinner. When I followed it religiously a couple of years ago I lost 50 pounds, and my cholestoral went down. When I went back to my bread, potatoes and pasta, I started gaining again. It is interesting tough that my wife, who is overweight and a type 2 diabetic was going to join me on the Atkins diet, (which Atkins touted as a great diabetic diet because it kept sugars at a stable level), but the "Nutritionist" at the hospitals diabetic class told her she needed to eat all those "Carb" foods, so she didn't join me. The fat and the skinny (or less obese) of it...I was able to stick to my diet and lost weight...she couldn't keep with her's and her blood sugar is high a good deal of the time and weight loss has been much less.
Those so-called experts in nutrition should go "Suck and egg" and not just "Bring home the bacon", but eat it too.

Eat butter, olive oil, lard, flax oil, and fish oils. Don't eat fake oils and margarines with fatty acids that your body was never designed to utilize and doesn't know what to do with. It is common sense.
Don't eat sugar, corn sweetners, flour or manufactured starches.

"from a hybrid form of grape-seed..."This should be read as RAPE seed, a form of mustard seed. It is widely grown in Canada (CANola) for processing into food oil.

"...After representing the edible oil industry, he temporarily left his law firm to become general counsel for the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 1971..."This kind of hanky-panky goes on all the time in the FDA. It is LOADED from top to bottom with officials who were once employees of the very food producers they were hired by FDA to REGULATE. Can you say: "Conflict of interest?"
