Happy 56th Birthday George W. Bush

President Bush is spending today, his 56th birthday, vacationing at the Bush residence in Kennebunkport, Maine. The President spent his day golfing at Cape Arundel Golf Club and also answered questions regarding the assassination of the Afghan Vice President. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

All of us with eyes to see the election fiasco for what it was, a spiritual attack, even a spiritual war, I want to encourage us to remember that we are not only continuing in that spiritual war because the enemy of our souls and of freedom did not go away, but to realize we are now also in a natural, physical war. This president needs no chinks in his armor, and we, the praying church, are part of his shield-bearers. We can go before him in prayer and clear the way for his safe progress, and we need to. Amen? !!

Worth repeating!

I will always remember that night of the election and the next five weeks as the closest the Devil has come to getting control of our country. It certainly was a spiritual battle!

We must not tire, we must not falter, we must not fail! --- words of a man who knows how to use words!

I'm reading Roy Jenkins' bio, Churchill, now. I long to get ahold of Churchill's six-book series on WW II -- his own words on the war, what led up to it, how it was fought, and the aftermath.

Thanks for forgiving me! You know, I have been watching the morning talk shows and the RAT anchors are acting as if President Bush was convicted of insider trading. From listening to them, you would never know that he filed his personal paperwork immediately or that bill clinton's SEC investigated and declined to prosecute. You KNOW if clinton could have gotten GW or ANYBODY in the Bush family, he would have done so.

The way the liberal anchors are treating this story, it seems like President Bush should sue them for slander! I know he won't but if he was a private citizen, he'd have a good case.

And like I said before .. Hillary will run in 2004 ... you just watch .. she hasn't been all over the country collecting soft money for nothing .. she needs the money and she won't be able to collect it after the November election

The rumor floating around Texas is, at the inauguration "The Beast" told GWB as they were leaving the stand, "I'll see you in four years, Big Boy."

Of course, she had already stolen everything that wasn't tied down at the WH. I guess she thinks she can steal the WH.

Occasionally I think about the send-off they gave themselves with military bands and reviews and I barf!

Hillary is the most loathed woman in America.

Amen, Gretchen!

When you think about how hard Satan tries to defeat you as an individual when you come back to God, imagine how ferociously he is attacking President Bush now as he tries to lead an entire nation back to spiritual truth!

We have got to keep him in our prayers day by day, hour by hour, and moment by moment.

"I'll see you in four years, Big Boy."

I seriously doubt Hillary would say that to any man. Maybe we should ask Janet Reno.

Ladies (and gents)...I NEED a picture of potato salad to send to Hugh Hewitt. He was on a roll, the day b/4 the 4th re: potato salad. He HATES the stuff....it was a GREAT show. Anyway, I had it for the holiday, and want to send him a picture, telling him how much I enjoyed it.

Thanks much. Oh, macaroni salad would do, too. He has an equal "love" for that.

I love you all. I love your words, your inspiration, your depth, your caring, your genuine love for our nation and our culture and most of all, your willingness to understand how important and powerful and necessary prayer is.

One cannot read thru the comments and especially the Psalm posted on this thread and be unmoved. At least I cannot.

I am a day late, but Happy Birthday President Bush. I prayed for you, straight from my heart today as I drove home from Ohio and hope that your vacation with your family both renews and delights you. I hope the weight you carry is lifted for awhile and that you are able to enjoy complete peace.

I feel so inept when I hear reports that ring with the falseness and hurtfulness of spin regarding your present endeavors or past activities. And when I turn to our Father in heaven, I request that the eyes and ears of my fellow, beloved citizens are opened to the truth, that the lies and corruption fall on deaf ears. And I pray that my own eyes and ears and heart are fully opened to discern the truth, and act accordingly.

I could not wish you a belated Birthday, Mr. President, without telling you, with my heart, how precious and meaningful your leadership has been to this particular household. Like so many here have said, you inspire me to be a better person. God Bless you, embrace you, fill you with deep humility and even deeper ability to discern the right path, the path our Father would have this nation take. I love you for the love you have shown us, and I hope, someday, I will be able to meet you and to tell you how praying for you lifted my own life up. ( God is AMAZING! )

Brief public prayer;
Dear Father, Shower our President with blessings, lift him up, way, way up, Father, and grant him full awareness of Your presence in his life.
If it be Your will, Lord, lift the tremendous burdens, he surely must carry, during this vacation period from his shoulders that he may deeply abide and rest in Your peace. Please bless his family, administration, all of our elected leaders and our nation.
Thank You, Father for Your incredible love. Thank You for this nation and the opportunities we have here. Help us to take advantage of them, doing Your will every single step of the way.
And Father, a huge request, may truth reign down this election season upon all of us, and may Your perfect will be done. Help us to recognize Your will, help our President to discern the advice You would have him follow, and if it would be alright with You, would You grace our President with the love found for him on this thread and throughout our nation? I would love for him to realize this, tho I think he already does.
Thank You Abba, for our terrific leader. Thank You so much. You knew just what we needed! Awesome!!!! You brought us to our knees, You brought us closer to You (HURRAH!), and You gifted us with a man who loves You, and demonstrates this love before our nation! How I love to hear him encourage us to love our neighbors. Lord, THANK YOU!!!
Help us to respond, motivate us to react to this blessing. Keep us humble, Lord, and keep our nation safe. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

I did try to keep it brief. < sigh >. Hard to do when one's heart is overflowing, no? :^)

How true this is, Republic! I have found that in my daily prayer for the President, I have been more consistent in my prayer for others, and have experienced spiritual growth as a result. Amazing, indeed!

Beautiful prayer! Thank you!

Eric's still loving boot camp, MamaB! Thanks for asking.

He's learned hand to hand combat and use of a bayonet in the past few days, and says he's made quite a few friends. I plan to put together a full update in a day or two, since people ask how he is.........I love this place!

How are you and your family today?
