Well, lets remember what precisely is going on. They are introducing that character in South Africa, not the United States. This character is being introduced in a nation where like two thirds of the population have HIV. This is an issue those kids will have to deal with, and soon. That's why I think it's legit.

AIDS, especially in children, is truly a horror, but Sesame Street is.....unbelievable. The article does say that S.S. plans to bring the HIV-Positive muppet to American toddlers and pre-schoolers.
