Name the day and I'll be there.

I moved to Ithaca last fall and have found some of my neighbors to be maturing, semi-lefties awakening to their ignorance and slowly turning right and some to be quiet conservatives afraid to make their views known.

I sense these conservatives would be more vocal given support.

The left here would squeal like the pigs they are, but if conservatives stood their ground, many of the libs would eventually begin hiding in their stys again.

I'd love to see the store's owner file a defamation/libel/slander suit against the knowingly pointless protesters.

How that makes the grocery store culpable or proves "institutionalized racism" is the real whackiness here.

I'm guessing that the grocery store owner or manager "outed" him- or herself, protesting the brainwashing of children at the local public school into blank check, homosexual acceptence.

He or she might also have spoken up, or written an editorial revealing less than socialist credentials in the past.

Protest you?

No, they'll call the local buffalo First Class Citizens after getting a buddy to ID your plate.

Then the DEA stops by...or there'll be an altercation between a white person and a black person outside your place of business and the liberals will subsequently boycott your business.

As much as I'd love to, it'd be sort of difficult for me to organize it all from 2-1/2 hours away. We'd really need someone on the ground there, who can identify proper targets and handle the logistics of it. But I think it can be done ;)

If you guys manage it...I'll be there...on the other side...dividing the enemy with their own rhetoric.

Except that the event would be covered the Ithaca Journal, who would probably send the very race baiter who is stirring all of this up in the first place. She would be very careful to portray the counter protesters as ignorant redneck bigots, taking quotes out of context, if not making up facts out of whole cloth and generally do her best to reinforce the Ithacite concept that anyone even slightly to the right of Ralph Nader is a racist trogladyte.

More likely, sadly, is that the store owner simply happened to be a deep pocket and convenient white target. I have noticed a certain tendency in the City of Evil for the liberals to eat their own whenever it suits them and especially when race rears up. Remember the JC Knight barbershop-zoning officer controversey? The battle at the Greenstar co-op over which faction was sufficiently ideologically pure?

Can't get anything done if you're not willing to take risks, my friend. And this is just the sort of grand, useless, futile gesture I'm prepared to take risks for ;)

No. I escaped the area in 91 and have only been forced back as of 1999.

I purposefully insult every Ithaca Journal telemarketer and regale them with the horrors of the rag they're trying to push.

Heh...at one point the editor called me and asked me to go ahead and send him the offensive portions of the paper so he could make it better.

I told him that I wouldn't even get the paper for that purpose, and reading it elsewhere (public library) is simply a waste of my time.

He couldn't pay me enough to do that job for you. Get the Ithaca Herald. Highly recommended.

Funny you should mention it...Ithaca has more than it's share of one way streets.

Directions to Cornell for the next Hillary visit...

Take Rt.13 (one-way street) to Green (one-way street) go up the hill to Eddy Turn left...(only way to turn).

To Escape, just go down the hill until you hit Rt. 13 (Seneca St. usually...and it's also one way). You can go right (one way) to go Rt. 13 North (not labelled last I checked) or you can cross that and get on a one way street a block or two away going Rt. 13 South.

Did I get that correct, Behind? Or has construction changed those routes too now?

Heh...Where in NC?

I was in Winston-Salem for awhile.

Did you ever get rid of that gun-grabber wanna-be, Police Chief Sweat?

Can't place it in my head.

We were in Winston-Salem, as I said before, though when I left I was tempted to think it was a suburb of Greensboro...visited Asheville, Charlotte, and even stayed for a bit in Raliegh-Durham.

There are a lots of places I never got to see, but the Liberals were working on taking over the city back then...they were weak.

I offended some radio-personality or such when they called me up out of the blue to offer us a $1000 shopping spree in Downtown Winston-Salem. I turned it down...didn't think it was safe enough for my family.

Ok...no, I think the Vast Left-Wing Conspiracy is pretty much neutered in your area.

Hat's off to you.

When you come to visit...don't bend over in the public restrooms.

I grew up in Endicott NY and went to college in Buffalo.
Pretty familiar with The City of Evil.
