Senate Passes Born-Alive Infants Act

WASHINGTON, DC, Jul 19, 02 (CWNews.com) - The US Senate on Thursday passed a bill protecting children born alive from being killed-- even if it the child is born during an abortion. The bill now goes to the White House for President George W. Bush's signature. The Senate passed the bill unanimously and was passed by the House in March.

The Born-Alive Infants Protection Act would amend the legal definitions of "person," "human being," "child," and "individual" to include a live birth that has occurred as part of an abortion. Supporters of the law noted numerous documented instances of children born during abortions who were left to die or were smothered by doctors.

"Does this include newborn babies left in dumpsters? Inquiring minds......."

I thought of that too, but since I'm pretty sure the law isn't retroactive, the mother who murdered that baby will probably get off scott free...that's IF she's ever even caught.

They forgot the liberal spin. They need to add the following lines:

"Opponents however contend this sets a dangerous precedent that may interfere with a woman's right to choose."

"Many voters feel this is may have negative after-effects."

"With strong support from the Religious Right..."

We've still got a long way to go, but at least we are heading in the right direction.

"Insiders" are talking of how the Dems might pick up 40 seats in the House this election.

Is this - "heading in the right direction"?

Even the liberals in the Senate voted for it, perhaps a hint of a conscience exists after all.

It will just make the doctors work a little harder to kill the babies before removing it from the body. Not that makes much difference, a dead baby either way.

Insiders are being misquoted. There are 40 competitive races that Dems have a chance to pick up a seat. That is far different than actually thinking they will pick up 40 seats.

Does this include babies murdered during a partial birth abortion?

I assure you, the scumbag Democrats would never have allowed this bill to come to the floor if they thought that it would impede their "right" to murder baby boys and girls who are all born except for the tops of their heads.

Thank God, truly. But I have to admit that whenever I read news like this I have to wonder how we have managed to go so far astray that this even needs to be legislated...

God bless America even if "we" throw Him out of our government, our schools, our homes and our minds!

This bill would never have passed in the Senate if Clinton was still President. He would have opposed it every step of the way.

Bill doesn't care about unborn children, but he does care about votes. I'm not so sure, he would have worked against it if all these pro-abortion senators were afraid to vote against it.

Passed Senate without amendment by Unanimous Consent.

I wish one of our Republican Senator would've requested the YEAS and NAYS.

But I also hope the NAGS are mad. :)
