Thanks for the ping....this is good news indeed!

Anti-abortion people should start with trying to stop pre-marital sex....then you wouldn't have most abortions.

Notice that both votes were "voice votes". In this fashion those that opposed the bill could not be held accountable since no one will ever know how they voted.

It's hard to fathom that they needed to pass a special law against this. Do we have to spell out in great detail the circumstances under which murder will not be lawful? Crazy times!

Please convince meOh, I don't think I can convince you if you don't see what has been happening because of this administration, but I can give you a couple of facts.
Funding of abortions overseas was stopped in one of the first actions that President Bush took when he took office.
In his decision on stem cell research which stopped the murder of any more human beings, President Bush referred to embryos as living human beings.
He has only been in office a year and a half, and has already done more to slow the culture of death than any President since Roe v. Wade. The level of debate has been raised to the point where we, who are opposed to abortion are not called 'right wing extremists' as a matter of course.
Things are changing, and this decision is further evidence of it, whether you are 'convinced' or not.

Right on!

I don't think it's up to a 'single politician' but rather up to a single man who is in a position of authority, and is at the same time yielded to the Lord, and seeking guidance from his Heavenly Father, from Whom the answers come.
If I were looking only at the society around me, and looking at President Bush in his own power, I would be discouraged as well.
But I am not because I am one of the millions of Americans praying for him daily, and convinced that he is in the position of leadership he is because God has placed him there.
If you see him as a politician who is guided by the winds of popular opinion, we are not even close to being on the same page, which is why you will never be convinced by what I say, regardless of the strength of my arguments.
George W. Bush is a strong Pro-life President, and is acknowledged as such by Pro-life groups such as Right to Life. They see what is there, and who he really is. Do you?

Don't ask about the abortion doctors selling the babie's body parts to a secondary market - Kinda like wholesalers. You might not like the answer!

Worse than murder. With the shortage of adoptable babies the insanity of this is even worse. Any medical person who performs this procedure should have a special place in hell reserved for them.

I would like to see a source on this. Sounds like an urban legend to me. You gotta be kidding. Or are you really that ill informed?
To: nickcarraway
A voice vote huh?
I wonder if there's a video of Hillary's face during the vote. I wonder how many just stayed silent.
To: Reaganwuzthebest
Do you know who voted against it? Not yet, but I won't be suprised in the least if my illustrious representative Hillary did.
Hey man, I got the double whammy, I believe my Representative, Nita Lowey also voted against it.
To: Tuco-bad
I really can't stand this snide troll.
So it's official. Personhood begins at birth.
I'm looking forward to finding out the disposition of children born alive at abortuaries. Who will own them?
Will they be given to the State since it's the State in this regard -- and not the mother, not the father and certainly not the abortionist -- who recognize them ... Hey Presto! ... as persons?
Surely it's not the woman's fault her abortionist was careless ... just as she has no responsibility for her child if she, her sex partner or her rapist were careless in preventing or killing the child by practicing Safe Sex.

Now, tell the Senate Democrats to ban third trimester abortions in total. All of the babies aborted after week 27 are viable. It is unethical to abort a baby at that time because all of those children can be born by Cesearean Section or Vaginally and then supported in an intensive care unit!
