Victim: I beat up pervert
By JOHN SCOTT
A FATHER of four told last night how he beat up a man who he said had abused him for six years as a child.
Mark Heath traced former family friend Dave Harris now in his 50s and punched and kicked him outside his house.
Mark spoke out after escaping with an 18-month conditional dischage for assault when JPs heard of his ordeal between the ages of seven and 13.
He told how he snapped after a prosecution against Harris failed.
Mark said: I was no longer a 35-year-old man when I walked up the path to see him. I was an eightyear-old boy again. Im not proud of belting him. I got no sense of enjoyment.
It was about confronting him and my past not about hurting him. I was surprised that I was taller and stronger than him and could turn the tables after all those years of misery.
My life was ruined by what happened to me as a child. Ive spent time in psychiatric wards and have twice tried suicide.
My wifes left me and I dont see my children any more.
Mark, of Stanwell, Surrey, claims he suffers from post-traumatic stress from the abuse.
He discovered that Harris was living in Child Okeford, Dorset, and went to face him.
Mark added: I just lost it. Suddenly it was me in charge, not him.
After it was over I knew Id done wrong and immediately handed myself into the police.
But I knew Id finally got my life back. No amount of therapy could have done that for me.
Mark admitted assault and criminal damage to JPs at Blandford, Dorset.
They told him: We do not condone assault. But we have had regard to your circumstances.
Harris is thought to have left his house.
A neighbour said: I believe hes in some sort of protective custody.

I just hope it's really over for this guy, and that he wasn't just using these things as excuses for his own failures in the past. If this act really gets his head on straight, and he's able to find success, then good show, I say.

As a father of three including a little girl, if Samantha Runnion were my daughter, they couldn't stop me from getting to the perp. Bring back the wild west.

I wonder with he will be charged with an antigay hate crime? If there is a "sexual orientation" hate crime in his jurisdiction, he certainly might be. "Sexual orientation" IS NOT limited to homosexuality. It can include any orientation -- even toward children. I read of an instance in a Midwestern state -- I can't remember which one -- in which a man punched a child molester and was charged with a "sexual orientation" hate crime.

More people should attack these predators. Since the press is so pro-anything-completely-out-of-bounds, the only way to get the issue out front would be to attack the perps and then make a (hopefully thoughtful) statement. Works for every minority issue group in the world.

Someone in the police should start leaking the whereabouts of these sicko's before they go to arrest them.
That way we have a chance to deliver some true justice.
These vigilante justice stories always warm my heart.

He told how he snapped after a prosecution against Harris failed. Sounds reasonable to me, Im not sure I wouldnt show up with something more than my fists. He deserves more than just a beating. Homosexuality is a paraphilic disorder that is interrelated with pedophilia, s top it and youll cut down on 60% of child abuse.

Homosexuality is a paraphilic disorder that is interrelated with pedophilia, stop it and youll cut down on 60% of child abuse. Good point! It is a vicious cycle because most homosexuals were molested as children. Somehow the chain has to be broken. Unfortunately the Catholic Church by allowing homosexual priests to molest children, has kept the cycle going.
Our government should discourage homosexuality just as vigorously as it discourages smoking. Homosexual behavior is much more dangerous to the homosexual and to the children they molest than tobacco.

I suspect he's kinder than I would have been to the perv. Suffice it to say that by time I was done, he would have no need for the fly on his pants.

I love it, he used physical therapy (with extreme prejudice),
to do what phsycological therapy couldn't. Self medication works!
To: mhking
He should have chopped his balls and dick off while he was at it and claim temporary insanity, a jury would probably acquit. I support vigilantism but his only mistake was he should have wore a mask and fled the scene. I have no doubt this guy in his 50's is still luring and molesting boys. It's a sickness that doesn't go away after just ONE boy.
