Hillary Slams Bush with Drinking Reference

New York Sen. Hillary Clinton attacked President Bush yesterday using an anecdote about hard-drinking President Ulysses S. Grant, in an episode that left some suspecting the reference was a not so subtle dig at Bush's own past drinking problem.
Delivering the keynote speech at a forum for presidential candidates before the Democratic Leadership Council in New York City, Clinton complained about Bush's recent criticism that the prosperity of the 1990's was "a binge" that had left America with "a hangover."
"I am reminded of what Abraham Lincoln once said, when his commanders complained about Ulysses S. Grant's binges. 'Find out,' he said, 'what brand of whiskey Grant drinks because I'm going to send a barrel to each of my generals.'"
"Clearly Hillary Clinton has picked up on (Bush's binge reference)," observed WABC Radio's Paul Alexander late Monday, after guest Craig Crawford, who publishes The Hotline and who attended the DLC conference, related Clinton's Grant anecdote.
"Could the former first lady be suggesting that the current president is drinking?" speculated the radio host, who also doubles as lead political reporter for Rolling Stone Magazine.
"She's at least saying he wasn't sober in the past," Crawford added.
"Bringing Grant in, there are meanings here," interjected Alexander's radio partner, John Batchelor. "For a Democratic first lady to tell a Grant story is alarming to me."
"Clearly (the Clintons) are going to use the binge-hangover metaphor here," observed Alexander. "That's what they're going to do."
"She had a good time with it today," confirmed Crawford.

Licoln also commented once about Colonel John Mosby's (The Grey Ghost) capture of some yankee generals and horses that he sure hated to lose the use of those horses. Grant may have been a drunk but he was a functional drunk.

She needs to disappear, forever! That's like asking a tribe of baboons to complain that the head baboon is ... a baboon. Very few of the Rats complain about Hillary because she epitomizes their own value systems - and the ones who do complain about Hillary mostly complain because she is in the way of their ambitions...

Sounds like Hillary just heard the quote and was eager to tell it to someone. In this context, it makes absolutely ZERO sense.
Is she saying that the mentality and chicanery that led to the bubble should be encouraged? Bush should come back with a better quote, this one from Churchill (and I paraphrase): "Madam, I may be drunk, buy you are ugly. And at least I shall be sober in the morning."

I have been convinced for a while now that Hillary has the most potential of any political person I have ever heard to be the antichrist. How you can be such an evil person, lying, stealing, probably murder, and who knows what else. It is so sad that people can not see her for what she is...a female dog.

Someone should ask Hillie if she's managed to pull the coke spoon out of Bubba's nose.

Funny isn't. You always hear the jokes about Bush and coke, but it is the Clintons that have connections to Tyson and the Dixie Mafia, Rodger Clinton admitting that his brother did coke, and Bill with a big veiny red nose that would put Rudolph to shame.

Good grief! Apparently these two commenting on the radio lack akills in interpreting figurative language. The analytical skills of 12-year-old could refute their charge that Hitlery was making refernce to Bush's past drinking.
First, it was Bush himself who made the first drinking analogy, and she responded in kind. Second, Lincoln's remark was meant to rebuke the person criticizing Grant and carried the message that Grant may have been doing something wrong but that his great leadership and abilities were unmatched, nonetheless, by the other generals. Her Heinous, then was trying to claim that, if the years that she and Slick infested the WH were a wild party for the economy, we need more of that party now.
Full Disclosure: I despise Hillary Clinton with every fiber of my being, but I won't accept as truth a baseless accusation.

Gee, I wonder if she mentioned any past presidents getting hummers from dimwitted, corpulent interns in the Oval Office while wifey's upstairs figuring out how to destroy the country... |

Hey Hildebeast! Run down any cops lately?
To: Tumbleweed_Connection
Bush (or one of his supporters) should say that they are surprised that she could remember this historical reference since she had such a hard time remembering things under oath.

Lady Astor toChurchill: "Sir I f I were your wife,I'd poison your drink." Churchill to Lady Astor: "Madam, if you were my wife, I'd drink it."
