This country is already beaten if idiots like this are the ones calling the shots.

My mother would have pulled switches from those precious trees and marched on the senate, God rest her soul. As she said to us kids many, many years ago, I'm going to beat some sense into you. And she did.

I'm encouraged. The front page of (increasingly leftish)
Discover Magazine devotes the whole front page of the september issue to
(Global Warming Suprise) A New Ice Age."Oceanographers have discovered a huge river of freshwater in the Atlantic formed by melting polar ice. They warn it could soon bury the Gulf Stream, plunging North America and Europe into frigid winters I would post the article but it's not on-line at the Discover Magazine site yet.

"This country is already beaten if idiots like this are the ones calling the shots."
Between this and the 200 plus million dollar bill voted on today to help reduce the problem of fat Americans, I'm glad that the government has it's priorities in order. Hell, it's not like we're at war or anything.
And yes, we're beaten. With idiots like these running the nation, we'll be a French or Chinese colony very soon.

THE ENVIRONMENT JUST SIMPLY ISN'T THAT IMPORTANT!The whole thing is a sham, there is NO problem and NEVER has been.

I would ignore every one of those restrictions and thoroughly ravage that forest. Then let the liberal whiners who put birds above national security come after me. It could be the end of that enviro-extremist movement once and for all. We all know that these wackjobs can't endure the light of day.

This is because the American people are dumb as a box of rocks and it will saddle us with even more of the stupidos this November unless I am greatly mistaken.
Had the electorate any sense there might be one or two of these traitorous @$$holes in the Senate not 50.

It's obviously not the cream that rises to the top. Ninety eight percent of those that make it into office come from scum floating on the top of the pond. Any time these weird things come to the surface, you can assure yourself, that they will only get worse, not better.
After 9-11 I felt sorry for those that thought some sanity would come to our borders and immigration. It's only gotten worse, the only attack has been on our Civil Liberties, and the same will happen with this. Even given the incredible year of fires that can be laid directly at the feet of environmental groups, the Forest Service, and the EPA, nothing will come of it except their power will grow more and things will be worse.

Our leaders are much more intelligent than the masses that is why they are so easily led by the nose and generally re-elect the same evil shiites we are used to. Leaders are only as good as those who follow them and we have about as ignorant and stupid a population as has ever graced the face of the earth.
It will believe almost any lie no matter how transparent and cannot follow a simple though more than a couple of steps. If you ask any question of almost anyone you are almost immediately floundering in the stupidity which flows from our fellow citizens' mouths.
I wish I didn't believe this but have seen nothing that refutes this belief. :^( They learned nothing from 9/11.

Your Mom was absolutely right - good old common sense is what's needed here. I respect our environment, but if our military can't train to be the best they can be, where does that get us. It leaves America very vulnerable. When America is hit by a nuclear attack, what will the environmentalists have to say, if they are still alive. These people have no common sense - they don't have any sense at all and they must be stopped.

If the Defense Dept. had shown some concern for the environment in the past they would have more credibility on this issue now.
As of 1997, the estimated cost of remediating toxic contamination at California's 29 closing bases is $6.5 billion.
- California EPA
Cleaning the Rocky Mountain Arsenal near Denver is costing $2 billion.
To: Looking for Diogenes
A lot of credibility there, go ahead and quote the EPA.
