Hamas has made it clear that they will murder anyone they choose. Just like the German's insistence on unrestricted submarine warfare in WWI, Hamas is a clear and present danger to all civilized society on this planet. Hamas must all die if we are to secure and preserve the lives of ourselves and our loved ones.

We will soon see if George Bush measures up to Ronald Reagan.

Reagan "neutralized" Khaddafy when a couple of Americans were bombed by Libyan terrorist in Germany.

Bush must retaliate against Hamas soon and in a dramatic fashion.

Hamas and the Hezbulla (sp) are instruments of States of the Mid East Region, e.g., Iran and Iraq, and with direct funding from our frinds in Saudi Araba. Of course, to make a case for publically associating these states with terrorism would lead to making them all targets (at once) in the War on Terrorism. The war of terrorism is a strange one indeed, one in which Diplomatic and Economic pressure is applied; one in which Intelligence is gathered; one in which Special Ops is used secretly; one in which we must conduct State by State so as to isloate and defeat with minimum costs....

The destruction of this and other groups around the globe is in full swing - just look at Greece and Italy working against age old groups - Columbia, Peru, etc., also cleaning out communist terrorist cells - and the financial rewards to communist regimes who once openly funded these groups is openly dimished as country to coutnry agreements corner the leaders in globialization funding agreements....

The Hamas will continue to step up their attacks until Iraq, Syria, and Iran are under new management (to include Afarat's crew deparating); and then the Saudi's will be given a final chance before "business" costs too much to deal with them as a state!

That in itself should make them fair game, but now they've also killed young Americans.

You say NOW they have killed young Amereicans? They have been doing this for decades, though not necessarily Hamas, but other terrorist groups. There was the Marine barracks in Beirut, the Khobar Towers, the embassies, the USS Cole, and little was ever done about it. I mean, I am all for destroying Hamas and all the other scum bag terrorists out there, but my opinion is, that we are getting nothing but rhetoric from the White House. I can only hope that we have covert ops going on, and maybe some of these dirt bags are assuming room temperature, and maybe we don't even know it is going on.

"Bush should offer the full assistance of the United States in wiping out the Hamas terrorists."

Agreed, but we musn't upset our mortal enemies.....errr....I mean our "good friends" the Saudis, and helping Israel wipe out Hamas, Islamic Jihad, or Hizbollah would send our terrorist friends (the Saudis) into a Jihadist frenzy which would most likely result in a oil crisis. Oil crisis = GOP loses badly in Nov., and the oil-rich Bush family loses tons of money. So, until we've weaned ourselves off Saudi oil and onto Russian oil, we'll be kissing the Saudis' royal posteriors.

Bush's refusal to do anything but issue weak condemnations is hurting America.

These maggots understand nothing but strength. It's time to show a little. To do otherwise invites continued attacks.

You know, given the large numbers of Arabs and Islamists in the Detroit (and Michigan) area, this is a rather courageous piece for the Detroit News to put out.

It is the rarest of all occasions for our media establishment to show courage.

Bravo for this paper.

U.S. Should Help Destroy Hamas

Fat chance. Hamas is a Palestinian organization and the Palestinians are sacred people. All the US can do is to intensify "peace efforts" (euphemism for leaning on Israel)

Bill Clinton helped resurrect Hamas after Israel threw them out of the country.

It seems clear enough that Hamas is in league with Iraq. Every time it looks like Bush is about to turn his attention to Iraq, Hamas sends another kid onto a bus, or into a restrurant, or to a square to blow up himself and somebody in Israel. There is no credible reason for the timing other than Saddam is in cahoots with this crowd to keep the USA stirred up about something else besides atomic weapons in Iraq.

We need to send bombers to Iran and on the way, drop a few on some of the Hamas followers.

And members of Hamas can be identified how? Do they all wear Black Crescent Moons on their backs for easy targeting? Some here have suggested carpet bombing but that will do little other than encourage future generations of little vipers. If the Israelis havent been able to eliminate this threat after many years, how are we going to be any more effective from 6000 miles away and being distracted with Afghanistan and Iraq?

After Sadam gets taken out six months from now, Iran will fall. The mullahs will be overthrown once the younger Iranians see a move towards democracy and modernism in their neighbor Iraq. With the mullahs gone, Hamas and other terrorist organizations in Iran will find that they are now pariahs. However, if the US were to do something really stupid like carpet bomb the gaza strip, then the Iranian youth might decide we are no longer worth emulating.

Selective targeting of Hamas - is pointless.
Killing some of the "wild ones" will not stop the growth of the movement... If Hamas is in a neighborhood in any strength at all - it is with the support of the neighborhood.

Destroy the entire neighborhood. Kill the terrorists, his friends, neighbors, family, pets and infrastructure.

It must be made dangerous and deadly, to protect or support the terrorists. If they want war, give them war on a scale that gives them no hope of victory - and only the prospect of the death of entire generations of his family.

They speak openly of their desire to destroy an entire people -- we must be prepared to destroy them first.
