Does anyone else see the incredible hypocrisy in Congress' falling all over themselves to throw corporate executives in jail for fraud and accounting games when Congress themselves have been setting the pace in these types of activities?

I, for one, am completely outraged at this and would like someone to explain to me why what is going on with Social Security, among others, is different than what happened at Enron or WorldCom?

Don't understand complex economics but I can tell you the root of the problem: the Federal Reserve. Essentially, they tell the Treasury how much money to print, buy the notes at very little cost, loan it back to the government at interest, and the government has to pay it back. That means us -- WE have to pay it back.

Federal Reserve notes were originally backed by gold; now they're just paper, not backed up by tangible assets. Because things are set up this way, all our money represents debt, and we can never pay it off because the more money we have, the more debt we have. Our tax dollars go to the Fed, but they're not really an asset since they're repayment of debt created when the the government buys its own money at interest.

The Federal Reserve was created by Woodrow Wilson in 1913 and stripped congress of the control of our money. From the name, people think it's part of the government. It isn't. It's a corporation of banks and it's completely unconstitutional.

If you feel like spending Sunday with your hair standing on end, keep reading about this.

Maybe you should do a poll on this one?

Putting the Feds in charge of cleaning up Wall Street is like hiring the Hell's Angels to run security at a rock concert.

This link, "links to Ron Paul's speeches about the Fed, the economy and monetery policy" didn't work. Can you post the text?

Of course they should be in jail. But we elected them and have let them get away with murder and other crimminal acts for around a century now, so perhaps we should look in the mirror for the statist demon.

The Congress of the United States is the largest criminal syndicate in the United States.
I wonder if there is just one Congressperson who is clean when it comes to his job? When they err (commit crimes) Americans give them a pass for bending the law. The constitution cannot be bent regardless of what liberals like to tell us. It is such an easy read, simple, brief and to the point but has been interpreted until it is not understandable anymore. What rubbish!

To my knowledge just one, Ron Paul.

I have a feeling things are ALL going to come to a head here, very soon. Terrorists, criminal acts by congresscritters, federal reserve games, UN actions, Israel, geez. This should be real interesting to watch.

Where do you think these corporate types got their inventive accounting from?

I guess my desire to see every member of Congress put to death is taboo since the remark was removed by the AM. Then again, he/she is probably doing me a favor by deleting the remark. It may save me from a visit from the thugs of one of the ABC organizations.

Regardless, as time marches on, more and more Americans will start feeling the same way as I do today. Maybe not tomorrow or the next day, but some day. I just hope I'm around to see it happen so I can p*ss on their graves.

If there is one congressman who is clean, I'd say it would be Ron Paul, although I have my doubts about that.

I think many Americans share your sentiment, though I don't think they should be eliminated except from office. Some should be in jail and others should be in their rocking chairs having their fake memories. I wonder how many retirees, in hindsight, actually believe they did they best they could for America? Most of them, when speaking to their present and past colleagues, retort they did their best for their party. That's a shame because I doubt the scoundrels even know the difference between their party and our country.

So long as government invests social security trust funds in federal securities, it is "borrowing" the money to fund general spending. That means the only way to stop it is to privatize social security.

I wonder how many would admit that they did it for the best of themselves. IMO, neither the country nor the party are the benefactors of most of their actions.

Wondered why it was a different color. = ] There are too many links to post usefully.
Instead, go to Ron Paul's Homepage
(http://www.house.gov/paul/openingpage.htm)
Click on Search Project Freedom (first link in menu), type in Federal Reserve, hit Search.

I agree, there are too many irons in the fire to keep on top of. The house of cards has to "tumble"
