On July 25, at a hearing of the House Oversight and Investigations subcommittee (the same folks who grilled WorldCom), the nation found out how little real science there is about global warming. The hearing was prompted by the discovery that federal scientists were using computer models they knew could not replicate U.S. temperatures. They appeared in two landmark documents that have served as the basis for very expensive and intrusive energy legislation.

But the Left long ago realized how gullible the public is, especially when it comes to fear-mongering. And so they have been able to dress up their various tax SCHEMES in sentiments like "it's for the children" and "we have to stop global warming, now!"
They also have to stop obesity by taxing fast food and high-calorie stuff. Oh, and your SUVs.
The REAL shame is that all these people aren't out on their ears for trying this. But since the Founders' warning to the American citizenry, about the vital need for an educated public, has gone unheeded, this is what we get.
Maybe this has been going on for a long time and I was just naive, but I am saddened by all the junk 'advocacy science' that's out there now. From the feminists with their "every woman is murdered to death every minute" studies, to the guy who wrote a book to prove that no one in frontier America owned a gun, to these yo-yo's with their computer models of impending doom... it seems like legislators are at the mercy of highly-credentialed BS-artists who dress themselves up as scientists to deliver their personal political agendas. Will no one tell truth anymore? |
computer and climate scientists (who developed and helped to develop the models) stated that the models in use are wrong because they do not take into account the cloud effect, which reflects sunlight away from the earth thus cooling the earth off, when the temperature rises. the earth appears to be a self correcting mechanism that naturally dampens rising (and falling) temperatures.
