U.N. [Arab mouthpiece]passes Anti-Israel Resolution [Disband the U.N. Now!]

UN Passes Anti-Israel Resolution The UN General Assembly last night passed a Palestinian drafted resolution demanding an immediate end to IDF operations in Yesha (Judea, Samaria, and Gaza). The final version of the resolution condemned all acts of violence in Israel and Yesha, subtly equating PLO-sponsored terrorism with Israel’s military anti-terror efforts.

The original draft accused Israel of carrying out war crimes against the Palestinian population. The wording of the resolution was toned down following strong opposition expressed by United States Ambassador John Negroponte who said that the session should have begun “by explicitly condemning terrorist organizations, like Hamas.” Referring to this week’s wave of PLO-sponsored terror that has left 13 Israelis dead, Negroponte added that the discussions held at last night’s special session were “out of step” with the reality of the events in Israel. The non-binding resolution passed by a vote of 114-4 with 11 nations abstaining. Those voting against were Israel, the United States, Micronesia and the Marshall Islands.

Why not just change the rules;
Only functioning democracies can vote on UN matters.

Great proposal. I can see the marbles rolling out of Kofi's mouth squirming away from this one.

Abstaining were Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, Honduras, Nauru, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Romania, Samoa, Solomon Islands and Tonga. So much for England, Germany, Russia, South Korea, *spit* France, Turkey, and our other "allies". Why does almost EVERY one of the "death to Israel" votes (about 35% of all UN resolutions) have exactly 4 no-votes (US, Israel, and two tiny island nations)?

Yahoo's title was misleading in an interesting way. "UN assembly demands Israeli withdrawal". I was hoping that the withdrawal was from the UN, and not "Palestinian" cities. Then the US could be next!

I think it's time we start withholding our UN dues as we start our withdrawal from the UN. They can relocate in a much friendly country to them--France, perhaps.

So what? Just pitch it right in the old circular file with the other 1000s of anti-Israel and anti-U.S. resolutions. Or use them to clean windows. Or stack a bunch of them in the bathroom, for appropriate use.

The resolutions are just that meaningless.

Meanwhile I'm going to try to find out if Micronesia and the Marshall Islands are good vacation spots. They seem to deserve some tourist bucks.

The original draft accused Israel of carrying out war crimes against the Palestinian population.

Why a non-country is allowed to draft breakfast menus, let alone resolutions in an international body if States is beyond me.

The MMM regularly draft "resolutions", and the resulting endorsement by this international body of clowns is an embarrassment to history, language and common sense.

Generally when every other nation thinks your nation is wrong, it would be prudent to reassess your nation's stance. In this instance I am at a total loss to understand the thinking behind the other nation's views on Israel vs the Palestinians.

Israel is taken preventative measures in reaction to terrorist attacks on it's grandmothers and children. I hate to use these parameters, but countless times they have been targeted. When they aren't other innocents are. To reveal the twisted thinking behind the terrorists acts, they are even willing to terrorize a school that has Palestinian students. These folks don't even mind killing their own, even though they condemn Israel for that daily.

Not only is this an eye opener with regard to the United Nations, it should be an eye opener to the EU and what trash the European nations have become.

When Bush stated, "You're either with us or you are against us, he was right on target." Try to tell me that the UN or the EU are "with us" against terrorism. I haven't had a good laugh in weeks.

The European Union is smelling worse every day.

The Flag of the United Nations is good for only one thing.

There is only one course of action that makes sense.

Palestinian terrorists mercilessly slaughter 19 Israelis in 24 hours, and the UN votes to condemn Israel.

Seriously now, F*** the UN and the Arab block that controls it.

Only functioning democracies can vote on UN matters.

I love it. That's the way it should be. Otherwise the UN is a giant pile of hypocricy. Dictators "voting" on the opinion of the world?

Might as well be 3 wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for dinner.

Well Tah Rah Rah Boom De A!

So what! Israel has rightfully ignored hundreds of "resolutions" before... just add this one to pile in the corner!

Israel is doing it's best to please the world community and it's not working.

Israel is gonna get slammed anyway, they might as well go all out and take the Palestinians out for good!! Send them ALL back to Jordan and Syria where they came from!!!

I want UN membership to be a campaign issue. I don't think being a member of the UN is a sign of positive world involvement, nor do I think lack of membership is a sign of isolation.

Quitting the UN is a sign of our unwillingness to fund a useless organization.
