We have a theory here that ADHD and Bipolar disorder is caused by Clostridium difficile and that treatment with Ambrotose (complex sugars) and Flagyl antibiotic may stop the problem. Clostridium perfringens is known to cause sugar absorption problems and difficile is genetically real close to perfringens. Waiting to try it on a few patients. You can imagine what sugar absorption problems would do to the brain.

I think it's a gross misdiagnoses of a far more common group of disorders with very simular symptoms. Try Central Auditory Processing Disorders. The symptoms match those of ADD ADHD. But the origin is quite different as is the treatment. Allergies, ear infections, ect is thought to bring on C.A.P.D. This damages the sensory system primarilly the Vestibular System {Inner Ear} which can lead to Cognitive Behavior problems in children and adults.
I would bet as well it is among the leading cause of anxiety disorders in adults but the doctors have forgotten their stuff and simply look over Inner Ear Dysfunctions for SSRI's which makes the person even more worse off. A damaged sensory system doesn't need inhanced especially when the person is limited to single tasking function in that area.
Ritalin usually is of little use for C.A.P.D. as well. Treating the allergy or ear infectionsa to limit further damage is needed. In adults with anxiety disorders produced from this source Benzo's work pretty well in small but consistant of a 24 hour period dosage rather than large ones once or twice a day. You get more benifit from smaller dosages that stay in the bloodstream 24 hours a day. I would recommend a trip to the Audiologist long before a trip to a shrink anyday. Audiologist can diagnose C.A.P.D. shrinks for the most part are clueless.

Don't you mean try it on a few guinea pigs? I mean, if ya'll don't know that is what they will be, not "patients". One man's patient is another man's guinea pig.
