I should think the answer is simple: "The enemy of my enemy is my friend."
Or, to deconstruct for you slow-learners out there (not on FR, right?), the anti-American mullahs are our anti-American media's friends.
BTTT
That's what I was thinking. The liberal media has become lazy and irresponsible. The lack of media coverage regarding issues they don't favor fits a wider pattern of media silence: as far as we are aware, there has never been serious mainstream discussion of the Koran or Iran. Their bias, indolence, and omission in media reporting is transparently leftist.
The objective of the Media should be to engage in honest reporting so that readers can make up their own minds about the relative merits of the news, especially, given the enormity of the threats facing us.
These days, the Media is too subjective to make the effort.
"The lack of coverage is mysterious."
Well, no, it's not. It's very easy to understand.
The liberal mainstream media have concluded that in a War on Iraq, the biggest losers will probably be the Democrats. Their solution to this problem is to bend heaven and earth (not to mention the truth) against the waging of such a war.
They are doing everything they can to mobilize public opinion against a War on Iraq and to bring as much political pressure as possible to bear on the Bush administration.
Publicizing a revolution in Iran suggests that Bush's approach is not only the wisest, but that it is winning. And when Bush (and the Republicans) win, the Democrats lose.
The media can't bear such an outcome. So, they ignore the events. It's as simple as that.
Thanks to the FReep Press !
Thats the ticket!!!!!
The sheeple of the world are being groomed for the shearing.
I personally would like to see all of the above you mentioned, happen, then, have all of these bright, educated Iranian professionals GO BACK HOME and straighten out their country.
Ditto all the Pakis, Syrians, Saudis, Lebanese (not that there's anything wrong with that), Yemenis, and other smelly types. Let them GO BACK HOME and take all their University of Iowa, etc., smarts and apply them in building shining Scottsdales in the Araby desert.
And don't let the doorknob smack you on the a$$ on the way out.
They can certainly cut it on their own, after having been raised in the Western tradition in the United States for a generation or more.
These sentiments are not because I am an incorrigible redneck, or because I don't like Iranians, but because I really think they can duplicate much of the material success of the United States, in Iran, without us having to house every single swinging d*ck in the world who wants indoor plumbing, right here in the United States.
Let the rest of the freaking third world GO THE HELL HOME and build up their own indoor plumbing and sewers and power plants.
We'll send them the blueprints, a transport ship full of Peace Corps hippies to help them, and a bunch of two-by-fours and beers.
Just get THE HELL OUT of our country.
Sheesh.
