Not that I'm complaining, but did Dick Morris have a brain transplant somewhere along the way?

PITTING the rich against the poor and the haves against the have-nots,....

As long as I've been alive, I've heard this drumbeat. There were times when I actually believed that it was a once-and-done issue. That when a Dem got elected, the issue would be resolved and that would be that.

As long as we have capitalism, we'll give incentives to folks with high productivity. And the Al Gore's of the world will grab power by fostering greed in the less productive and taking away the incentives of the successful thereby enslaving them. Why go to college? Why not shrug?

As we used to say in high school:

If Gore had a brain, he'd be dangerous.

“A fault line has always run within the Democratic Party between the left and the center.”

Unh, unh Mr. Morris. Their fault line moves every 20 years or so.

Now, the fault line runs between the left and the radical left. There is no centrist, democratic voice.

Lieberman might be the closest one to center but you know what he did with his beliefs when he joined Gore in 2000.

Todays dems would view George McGovern as a “centrist” democrat!

"What a pityful "little man".......

Al needs to let his remaining hair grow long and get real dirty, grow that "attractive" beard back, procure a half pound of good weed, move to a secluded shack in Wyoming, and write down his most meaningful thoughts on the environment, technology, etc. But he should stay away from the bombs like his protege, Ted!

leave the Tipster back in Tennessee with the ice cream!

Morris has always been a DLCer. That's why he was able to help Clintoon triangulate. He was brought in after the 1994 rebuke to remake Clintoon as a moderate. He's done work for Trent Lott even these days.

And that's happened to the GOP as well. Thirty years ago, I probably would have been considered a centrist Republican. Now folks think that I am an arch-conservative because I am for limited government, for gun rights and against abortion. I really haven't changed that much, instead the country has changed, and not for the better...

Well, he is helping Gore and the Dems there. Dick believes the winning ticket for Dems is 2008, Hillary, feigning united we stand, except for playing the race card.

I don't think Dick has had a brain transplant. The ethnic politics he is advocating for dems are extremely dangerous for the US.

Americans feel endangered and know that only by working together can we again feel safe.

I don't know about anybody else, but I'm getting a little bored with this crap. I do not feel endangered, I feel no fear, only anger and if Morris thinks we've all some how come together, well he should get out of the office more.

Too bad the headline didn't say "As America unites, Gore goes away."

He declares, "This struggle between the people and the powerful was at the heart of every major domestic issue of the 2000 campaign and is still the central dynamic of politics in 2002."

His struggle back in November of 2000 was also against the military voters who were deployed around the world to protect this piece of human crap. When will this guy ever just go away and shut up?

"Al Gore frames the key question in our politics as, "How do we make sure that political power is used for the benefit of the many, rather than the few?""

As usual, Gore gets it wrong. The Founding Fathers phrased it "How can we sure that the political power is used for the benefit of ALL, rather than any one interest group at the expense of another?".

The exact OPPOSITE of what Gore proposes!!

I've noticed the exact same thing & it is a by-product of something said by Rush Limbaugh.

When a Democrat is in office, they tell us all is right with the world, though it is actually a false sense of security that we feel. They even toss out a "crisis" that never existed before which is always the fault of a Republican constituency. Examples would be the 1970's Carter Administration Gas Crisis, The 1980's Homeless Crisis brought on by the evil Reagan Administration, and the 1990's Clinton Administration Health Care Crisis. We must shun Republicans and elect the Democrats as our only logical saviors to these ills if we want to keep the euphoria they bring coming. Only by casting our votes for Republicans can we screw this false euphoria up for ourselves (sound familier?).

Now, when there is a Republican in office, everyone hates everyone else. Rich over Poor. Black over Whitey. In more recent times, Straights over Gays. It's called Class Warfare. EARTH TO ALGORE...I'm damn sick of fighting something that only "seems to" exist when a Democrat gets on the soapbox to tell us it does.

If there was a gasoline crisis in 1976, why do we still have reasonably affordable gasoline a quarter of a century later? It's because DEMOCRATS MADE IT UP AND PLAYED CHICKEN LITTLE OVER IT TO GET VOTES! Amazing how it was only the CRISIS that dried up & went away, huh?

Where are the humongous numbers of homeless people (circa 1984) living in cardboard boxes, Mr. Gore? NOWHERE, MR. GORE! Some may still exist but they appear to be determined to stay that way of their own volition and they're nowhere near the numbers predicted by your activist friend Mitch Snyder (Talk about "cooking the books"). If these people were such victims of discompassionate Reagan Republicans, why do we not still hear of their plight? Is it that they are the forgotten people BY YOU, THE COMPASSIONATE DEMOCRATS? I suppose these phantoms are easilly enough disposed of...Just stop talking about them & the problem is like IT NEVER WAS, huh?

I'm not even going into the Hitlery version of "Nightmare on E.R. Street"...We should now ALL know the script like the cold of a doctor's stethoscope.
