In the August issue of Martha Stewart Living, the domestic diva says she will be polishing her copper on Aug. 20.

Congress may have other plans for her on that day.

A member of the House panel probing the ImClone stock scandal said he wants to slap her with a subpoena if Stewart doesn't hand over documents - and herself - by the deadline.

Martha will never be convicted of insider trader, as Martha never gave anything in return for the infomation.

Sex doesn't count - especially at Martha's age.

What difference does that meake? She profited from the sale of stocks based on insider information. That's illegal and she'll swing for it. So to speak.

"Martha will never be convicted of insider trader, as Martha never gave anything in return for the infomation."

Not required. She's a "tippee" and, if she got inside info knowing the same, she's toast, and not the French kind with homemade marmalade and twice whipped sweet cream.

In any event, trading on inside skinny is not Martha's problem. Much like the grifting, predating, say a lot but do nothing good 'Toon, her real criminal exposure lies in false statements, obstruction of justice and, likely, conspiracy with the broker to do as much. Oh well, we'll see if the Rule of Law will be applied to this one liberal elitist....

In any case, it's the cover-up that's gonna get her, not the crime.

Book her, Dan-o.

So if you don't have a sword to fall on -- I've got this wonderful old French sabre that I picked up at a neighborhood antique store -- just use what you have around the house.

Yeah she'll probably be indicted for obstruction of justice, but not for insider trading, as Martha didn't give anything in return for the info.

"ImClone former CEO Sam Waksal on Wednesday was indicted on charges of insider trading, bank fraud and obstruction of justice. "[can you say "scapegoat"?]

Indeed, she is a 'scapegoat'; otherwise, Martha would be the one considering offers of immunity for her testimony against Sam, who is obviously the bigger fish. . .if Justice was what these folks were fishing for.

What a prescient entry.  Martha could
very well be polishing a copper knob on the 20th.
