Is Our Real Enemy Saudi Arabia?
CT Now ^ | Augustus 09 2002

A scholar in Washington stood up the other day and spoke truth to power - and it was about time.

The man's name is Laurent Murawiec, a Frenchman who teaches at George Washington University and is a policy analyst at the RAND Corp. On July 10, he told a closed meeting of the Defense Policy Board, a Pentagon advisory group, that the United States' "most dangerous enemy" these days is our good oily friend Saudi Arabia.

"Most" could be an exaggeration. But "dangerous" and "enemy" are right on. The true role of Saudi Arabia in the terrorism that has plagued America (and other countries) since the end of the Cold War is the dirtiest little secret in town. We have been kowtowing to a corrupt, lying medieval monarchy, or to its oil reserves, as its royal family has sought to survive by exporting the anger of its own citizens as holy war and terrorism in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Chechnya and Manhattan.

"They are bad people, our rich Saudi friends. One sad example of our dealings with the Saudi government is that we considered (and sometimes went along with) their requests that American troops dispatched to protect the reign of the princes exclude Jews and women. Local custom, you know. Sorry."

We really can't do this anymore and look at ourselves in the mirror. I have such terrible things to say about Saudis that FR might ban one of its most mild mannered.

(from the article)

""The Saudis are active at every level of the terror chain, from planners to financiers, from cadre to foot-soldier, from ideologist to cheerleader," Murawiec told the scholars and former senior officials of the advisory board, ... "Saudi Arabia supports our enemies and attacks our allies ... It is the kernel of evil, the prime mover."

Saudi Arabia the government, or Saudi Arabia the population?

I'd really like to see some smoking guns in the King's hands before we haul off and bitch-slap them.

Since shortly after 9/11 when it became apparent that most of the hijackers were from the southern part of Saudi Arabia, I have been puzzled by the absence of sorrorw or contrition from the Saudi's, the lack of support in rooting out the 'bad guys' from their county and the near silence of our government in condeming them and treating them as a host to terrorists. I am not sure oil is the reason but am stumped as to any other motive on the part of the Bush administation. I think that country ought to be first on the list in our War on Terrorism. We know the terrorists were supported by citizens of that country and that there are still those there today that would repeat 9/11. A call for a war on terrorism should be consistent.

Hey, he's a king, he thinks it is all for him and his. We beat the Japs, the Nazis, the commies and now we are back to beheading Kings. Good.

Then again, privately, they may be sharing information
with us that will do away with their enemies (and ours). The FBI war on the Mafia,in the 80's, had alot of instances where Mob guys fed the FBI info on their bitter enemies, so the FBI would grab them and the people with a grudge could get rid of a rival....without "hitting" them themselves....
Let's not rush to judgement on this one....Saudi duplicity
isn't likely to fool the team of Rumsfeld, Cheney,
Powell, Rice.. Bush 41 and Bush 43! Even denying us their
bases for an attack on Irag doesn't mean a whole lot. I think the Bush team, as opposed to the touchy-feely Clinton regime....doesn't care PUBLIC pronouncements of solidarity. The most valuable asset in a war against terrorist is information...which I'll bet the Saudis are supplying a wealth of!

No, by all means we must not judge duplicity. We are mere infidels after all, and not really capable of understanding the vastly more superior minds of the Islamic ones.

Perhaps, but I would question the value.
Even if true, do you believe they would share the information necessary to attack and destroy the monsters within Saudi Arabia --- I doubt it. And, within Saudi Arabia is the root system and nourishment for Radical Islam.

Saudi Arabia is the whore, from whose womb sprang the radical theology of militant Islam.

Saudi Arabia is the source of religious doctrin, funds, support, protection and direct encouragement of the radicals to attack "enemies of Islam" to distract from the failures of every Arab nation by blaming the infidel or the Jews.

If the House of Saud cannot control the reckless and dangerously diseased whore that Saudi Arabia has become -- then the whore must be destroyed along with the House of Saud.

I wouldn't count on it. We need the Saudis now in thee same manner we needed Stalin during WWII. Once we accomplish a regime changs in Iraq and Iran, the Saudis will be much less relevant. That is when we will see U.S. pressure increase on the Saudis.

The Saudi's are meaningless. Any Arab country that is terrified of Iraq is a sand trap on the world's fairway...you blast out of it and move on to conquer the next hole.

you may not find your smoking gun, but what you will find is the family Saudi royal family did was make an alliance with the leaders of Wahhabi sect of Islam to gain power and keep power in Saudi Arabia. And by doing so they have created an incubator that allows this strain of anti-American/anti-western thought to flourish.

The smoking gun is their unyielding support of the wahabbi sect. Wahabbism is the heart and soul of Saudi Arabia, and wahabbism was also the heart and soul of 9/11. Wahabbism was the inspiration for the Talaban in Afghanistan. Wahabbism is evil.

A message from the High Infidel Commander
ATTENTION CITIZENS OF MECCA AND MEDINA....

In approximatly 45 minutes the Air Wing of the God of America will blow the shitte out of that stupid rock you think your God protects as well as the soon to be very "holey" cities of Allah. We suggest that you reflect upon what this all means in a expedited fashion and reach your conclusions quickly. Helpful attendants will be availiable in the back of the theater for those who wish to make a declaration of a change of relegious mind in light of these impending events.

"Then again, privately, they may be sharing information .."

Well, considering that the whole Iraqi army snuk up on them in the last war...

Furthermore, other than holding on to power, the Saudis aren't noted for accomplishment in anything. Their oil and cities were designed and built by forigners. Their military is a hopeless boondogle joke. A nation of arab Clampets that struck oil. Kings and Princess, my arse. They ought to be next.
